I believe your actually in a Temporary User account not a temp OS. The fastest solution is to create a new user account and copy the data out of the old account.
1.Open Control Panel 2. Users 3. Add new user 4. Copy data from old user account (Found under C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name Here)
5. Done

I have windows XP on my Fujitsu Lifebook A 3040

hi...which XP service pack are you using? if im not mistaken, MS is still supporting SP3 version of XP, however, if you really want to upgrade your OS to win7 for you to be sure that is supported by MS. You will need a win7 installer disc. the most common problem when installing a new clean OS on fujitsu's brand is the hardware drivers.
But most Techie, has always some solution for that, suggest take to shop for proper installation of OS. (If you can't).

thanks

I forgot my password to my fujitsu stylisttic pc tablet how can i by pss it

Hi Joseph,

Unfortunately for this kind of issue, there is no way for you to be able to bypass it unless you use a third party application but that would take your time and worst might screw up your system. If the OS installed is Win XP, you try to do "backdoor" however it is not 100 percent sure. The only way for you to access it is to create another account if there is an option on the login page. WHen you are able to access it from the new account, delete the old user and create another administrator account. Don't worry about the old admin account, because the files are still there.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Meir

How do I upgrade the Bios for E5140, E5320, E5520, E6150, E6520, E6530 and E6550 LifeBooks?
NOTE: This BIOS upgrade is for E5140, E5320, E5520, E6150, E6520, E6530 and E6550 LifeBooks. The upgrade fixes an issue with the Full Dock II/LAN Dock II/Port Replicator II.
Instructions on Upgrading the BIOS.
Step 1: Create a bootable BIOS upgrade disk
This step can be performed on any system (desktop/notebook computer) running a Microsoft Operating system.
  1. Place the BIOS upgrade disk in the floppy drive of your pc/notebook.
  2. Copy the system files onto the BIOS upgrade disk to make it bootable.
  3. For example:
MS DOS prompt: type 'sys A:'
    MS Windows:
  4. Double click "My computer" on the desktop.
  5. Right click the floppy drive icon.
  6. Select "Format?"
  7. Select the "copy system files only" option
Step 2: Upgrading the BIOS
  1. Attach a floppy disk drive to the LifeBook to be upgraded.
  2. Place the BIOS upgrade disk (created in Step 1) in the floppy drive of that LifeBook.
  3. Reboot the system. Boot from the floppy.
  4. At the command prompt, type:
phlash /mode=3 filename.rom (put a space after "phlash" and after "3". Filename is the name of the BIOS.)
  5. Allow the system to reboot.
Step 3: Change BIOS settings (For users upgrading from Windows 9x to Windows 2000).
To allow Windows 2000 to better manage your system, change the following settings in your BIOS:
a) Boot the notebook and press F2 to enter BIOS setup.
b) Set Power Management to Disabled
b) Set Plug and Play OS to NO
Consult your user's guide on how to change BIOS settings.

HP Pavilion ZE4120s touchpad and front lights do not work. I opened the laptop to check the dc power jack, and after I have this problem. I had disconnected and reconnected the ribbon to the touchpad...

what works and not. be clear.?
what OS? opr. sys.? (omg XP?)
that laptop is retired at HP, zero support now.
and finding one that works ? is like Woody Allen in "Sleeper "and the 2000 year old VW that runs....still.,(famous comedy)

just like cars old PCs can be fixed if LUCKY or find used parts.
finding used parts can be very hard some are impossible
or sit and park and pouch parts off fleabay for a year?

the HDD is always sold (and power packs and batteries)
as is W7 up. (2017 answer)
id bet MS does not sell your unstated OS
the oldest one is 2003 (says the service manual online)
so is XP, is my guess. Vista was 2006

XP is dead, its not supported now,
and is a virus magnet, see the UK Hospitals go down for XP?
last month, id never let XP into my home unless , internet cable was cut, to it.

ill answer for: IT RUNS THE OS OK< but.....
front lights, what lights.? please be clear on what?
touch pad dead. (ill work this)
The touch pad 13 years old can be just bad, its comon
the switches do not last for ever, infact short lived.
the HP site is dead now. for this PC.
so the drivers there for you XP are dead.
and microsoft updates are now dead for 3 years.

If i had this, or a friend did
id walk in to GOODWILL store
grab any Laptop with W7 COA sticker on the bottom and buy it
$20 is common price, why spend more, get a new lap to
heck even one with a real wide screen ?
then invest in it, fix IT .

if lucky, ?
go to Device manager, google that, XP device manager.
then see the key bad device.
internet connected to the WWW.
you click on that device, and click UPDATE it.
that is the only hope for IT.

MS cut the cord, Microsoft did on XP and VISTa and older.
