Separate drivers are not required for all current operating systems (win98, me, 2000, xp, vista, w7, linux, openbsd, mac os etc.) as support for internal cd/dvd's is built in.
If you are trying to play a dvd movie you need software to do so. vlc from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ is available for most if not all of these operating systems and can play dvds.
if your device is an external usb cd/dvd drive you only need drivers for early versions of windows, such as win98.
