Hi, the problem can be related to any of a number of things. First of all make sure that there isn?t any extraordinary LED blinking. Every LED has a troubleshoot in the manual(which you can download here on Fixya). If there?s no blinking going on check for the following: The power supply to the printer, along with the line(cable and socket). That the ink cartridges fit well. You have paper in the tray, and there?s none stuck inside. The printer cover is well shut. All parts are well connected(such as the paper tray) If everything seems to be in order try connecting it to another computer? maybe the USB connection isn?t a 100 percent, and the communication between computer and printer is at fault, or there?s some software problems, or anything that?s computer related. Could also be router or print server problems if you are using either one. Check out the troubleshoot pages for your router here in Fixya, they contain reference to that on some routers.

I bought the wrong printer for my needs and the cartridges for my HP Photosmart C309g-m run out when I don't even want color. Is there a way to set permanately, not with every printing secssion to use...

Hi

Yes you can set it to print permanently. You have to go to Printer proprieties and go to color option and choose Gray scale printing only and this will not use the other inks at all but black cartridge only for printing.

320ML turbo printer switches on it's own from 12 to 10 cpi during a print job. Causes? Fixes? We've rebooted the printer and the XP host without fixing it.

More than likely you will b=find this to be a printer control code embedded in the printer datastream from the application.

If you can send me a "Print to File" of the failing print job I can take a look at it with one of my lab tools and see if the command is coming from the application.

Print is compressed on the page. Need to stretch

Compressed print is either a font selection issue or a call for a "SI" (Shift In printer control code)

I suspect the problem can be fixed by going into the printer menu and printing out the printer settings.

Look at the default font and see if it is set to 17,1 or 15.X cpi spacing. If it is then that's the problem.

Change the font to a 10 or 12 cpi spacing (Character per inch).

If the setting is fine, then send me a "Print to File" and I can tell yoi if the software is controling the printer. My address is [email protected]

Also, check the application you are using to generate the data file. Make sure you have the correct "Point" size selected for the font.

Canon LBP2900 printer but i don`t know how to print back to back

I take it you are using windows,
Open control panel, open printers and faxes, right click on your printer icon.

Left click on properties, left click on printer preferences, left click on page setup, down near the bottom there is a box called duplex printing, tick that and you are on the way.....

FILE IN QUE, WILL NOT PRINT

What kind of printer are you using?

If you are trying to print a PCL PC-XL or PostScript file, go into the printer driver and click the "Print to File" box. Then send the print file to me at [email protected]. I can look at the file with some lab tools that I have and see if I can find the failure.

You can cancel the print job that is active in the queue by double clicking on the printer icon (lower right of the screen) Then highlight the print job and select cancel from the menu at the top of the queue box.

Black will not print

Hi springfield, From what you describe I don?t think it has anything to do with your printer drivers. I would try the following: -Run a couple of nozzle cleaning jobs. -If no change I would suspect a defective cartridge and would try a brand new HP cartridge. If these don?t work I?ll need some more details such as do you refill cartridges, buy remanufactured cartridges or use new HP. Also is this still under manufacturer?s warranty? I don?t want to suggest anything that would void it. Let us know what happens and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
