You can purchase an LPT to USB adapter, which connects old printers(parallel LPT) to new cards. Estimate cost is 30-40 us $. You could also get an LPT card for your PC, estimated 20-30 us.

Keeps saying i have a paper jam but I don't see a lick of paper when i open it up

Try to restart it by shutting down the pc and the printer. Pull out the the power plug of your printer and unplug the plug of your printer from pc. After that plug -in again the cable to your printer to pc and plug in the power cable of your printer after that turn on your pc and your printer.

No dial tone. We have cable internet but there is

1. If you have cable internet you won't ever have a dial tone.
2. If the printer is a wireless one then you need a wireless connection from the PC. Since these are flaky at the best of times get a USB cable and connect the printer to the PC through that. There is no point connecting the printer to a cable box even if you could, because the printer wouldn't understand the signals coming from it. They have to come from a PC.

I need a cable to enable connection from Epson lq 1050 to my computer - (DELL Inspiron-530S)

The "data" cable for a printer either is:
* USB -- a small almost-square socket, less than 1/2 inch (1 centimeter),
* parallel-port -- a very-wide connector, more than 2 inches (5 centimeters).

Some printers have *BOTH* connectors.

Determine which connector(s) you have, and buy a cable.
Often, a "Thrift Store" will have the "parallel-port" cable for a dollar.
Don't pay more than $4 for a "USB" cable.
If you're buying a USB cable, make sure that there is a "square" end -- some USB cables have a smaller "mini-USB" connector, in order to connect to a digital camera.

Printer does not print documents that are more then one page long. all I get is a blank sheet with a page no after the first page which prints ok

If you print out a Test Page (Start -> Control Panel -> Printers & Faxes -> Right Click on your printer entry -> Properties -> Print out a "Test page")
If that does not print please follow these steps: Remove the printer USB cable from your PC -> Restart your PC -> Log back onto your Profile -> Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Printers & Faxes -> Delete all printer entries -> Restart your PC -> Log back onto your profile -> Plug the printer USB cable into the back of your PC -> Go into Printers & Faxes -> Right Click on the Kodak AiO entry -> click "Set as Default" -> Now try to print.

The printer does not respond to print order. I get a message saying camera is connected, it is not.

The Camera Detected message is your PC detecting the scanner on the Printer - What happens when you try and print?

Also, try the following:

Remove the printer USB cable from your PC -> Restart your PC -> Log back onto your Profile -> Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Printers & Faxes -> Delete all printer entries -> Restart your PC -> Log back onto your profile -> Plug the printer USB cable into the back of your PC -> Go into Printers & Faxes -> Right Click on the Kodak 5100 AiO entry -> click "Set as Default" -> Now try to print.

Use as a printer

Hi Harumorani,
Yes the fax can be connected to your computer to use as a printer as well.
There is a small square hole at the back of the machine coverred with a piece of plastic.
It is a USB connection.
You will need a USB printer cable and in the box that the machine came in is a CD with the relative drivers.
If you for some reason no longer have the driver CD then log onto the "brother solutions Centre" web site at http://www.brother.com .under product support select USA English.
Fourth line down , second box from the left click on FAX from the drop down list select Fax2820 Select downloads.
Step 1 select "drivers"
Step 2 select your current operating system
Step 3 select language English
click on search
Next pop-up screen select "more information " on the package that suits your previous entries
Next screen select download.
This will install the printer driver and you should be up and printing.

USB Cable?

It should connect directly to the printer. Exactly where varies from model to model, but there should be a small port it will fit in. Just FYI, the printer will not be powered by the USB cable, it will require a separate power cord (which you probably already knew and had plugged in).
