Husband's 1988 Bronco II; at first, the low beams stopped working, then we discovered that the highbeams still worked. a few weeks later, the lights would flash and blink when we drove down the road, and sometimes they would shut all the way off, in which case we could play with the blinkers untill they came back on. Now the highbeams won't come on. Also, the little foglamps underneath the headlights still work. He has tested the connectors on the headlights with his electrode. I am stumped, and i am also 700 miles away from him. I need him to be able to come home, so any assistance would be incredibly appreciated.

It sounds like you have a bad dimmer switch. The dimmer switch is located at the left floor pan area. Your husband can disconnect the connector and use a jumper wire to get the headlamps working long enough to get home. Then, when it is more convenient, replace the switch.

My left headlight highbeam light works and the lowbeam don't why

the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.
