Remove the power cord from the wii. hold the power button in for 15 seconds.
plug the power back in. if the power light comes on check the color.
green is on, yellow is standby and red is totally off.

if there is a light press the power button and see if it turns on. if it does not then from a Wiimote, press and hold the power button on the remote. this should turn the console on. if the console does not turn on and the remote batteries are good you can try one more thing IF the light is on.

press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds on the system. disconnect power and replug. if you still cannot turn it on then your system is bricked or damaged and needs replacement.

in any case the power button is broken you can turn the console on and off from any remote

Cant get pass the "press A button" screen

Turn off for a moment, try again, reconnect your controller.

Since its brand new, you can get it replaced if that doesn't work, dont waste your energy on it, just get another one, free replacement / warraty. Im sure.

I can't turn on the Wii. The red light is always on and when I press the power button (or even the eject button) the blue light is flashing (Only when I press those buttons). I tried the solution of...

Try pressing the power button down and holding it for a few seconds and see if your WII comes back to life. When I first got my Wii I would hold down the button just long enough for it to turn green. This seems like a standby mode. To get my Wii to turn off completly I needed to hold down
the button until it turned red and when restarting the WII I held doen the button until the Wii started back up.

Wii wont turn on

Hi,

If there is no LED on, then the most likely reason is, that your wii isn't getting power. So the problem, is with the plugs, and the power adapter. If you have a friend who has a wii, try testing his power adapter on your wii. Make sure your cords are completely plugged in, on both sides, (the outlet and the wii) then press the power button on the wii. If that dosent work, try turning it on with one of your wiimotes. If that dosent work, that means your wiimote is not synchronized with your wii. To sync. it, open the sd card cover on the front of the wii, press the red button above the sd card slot. Then open the bottom of your wiimote, (where the batteries are) and press the small red button that should be beside the batteries. Then hold the wiimote close to the wii, then after its done flashing, press the power button on the wiimote and also, try plugging your power cord into another outlet. If it still won't work, you've got a broken wii, so you better send it to get replaced or fixed, again as suggested. DON'T OPEN IT! You could loose your warranty if you open it, so it's safest not to. Hope you get it to work

Thank you !!

My wii will not turn on now

Is the power button on the Wii console lit (orange)? If not, then your Wii doesn't have power. If yes, try turning it on with the power button on the console (instead of using a Wiimote).

Wii remote does not turn on.

Yes it needs to sync with the Wii. The way you sync it is to first press the button on the wii remote and then press the sync button on the Wii. The sync button on the controller is the red button on the back of the remote where you put the batteries in and on the Wii it is located on the bottom or side (which ever way you have it setting) in the middle behind the small door. Just press the red button on both the Wii and the Remote.

Wii fit

Have had this problem before with wii sports. What I did was turn off the wii console and unplug from the power, leave for a few seconds then turn it back on when the health & safety screen comes up
  1. Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

  2. Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

  3. After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:
  4. With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

  5. Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

  6. Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

  7. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

Wii controllers

Sounds like the remotes aren't sync'd up with the Wii in a way to turn it on. I had a strange occurrence with ours where only 1 Wiimote (ha!) out of 4 would turn on the Wii with the power button. Try following the instructions to program the Wii to the Wiimotes again and see if that works. Also try holding the power button on the remotes a little bit longer.

I don't recall but you push the red button behind a hidden cover on the front of the Wii and then the button on the Wii controller behind the battery cover.
