Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: Downloading pictures from Polaroid t831 camera

Try this option, if it does not work, let me know and I will suggest something else!

Plug the camera in along with the usb into the computer and if nothing pops up, go to start, run and browse for your camera. It should show up there.

SOURCE: USB cord (for Olympus Stylus 790) not recognized on computer

Hello :

The problem is not with the cord . But it's with the computer .

I'll give a solution assuming that you are using [ Windows XP ] as an Operating system . This can also go with [ Win 7 or Win Vista ] .

...................

1: Go to start

2: Go to all programs

3: Go to accessories .

4: Go to system tools .

5: Click on [ restore ]

Now you will see many restoring points . Try to remember which point or time the ( Olympus Stylus ) was working fine .

6: You need to restore your system to that point or time .

7: The system will restore itself to the point you chose and will reboot .

8:After rebooting plug in your Camera USB cable to try if that worked or not . It should work . If not , then the problem is with the Camera . For that you need to reset the Camera and try again .
If that didn't help , then there must be a hardware failure with the camera and it needs to be serviced .

Please don't forget to rate !

good luck .

Garmin nuvi 770. unable to get past map update

I had this problem too. It was because I plugged in my garmin to my computer with the wrong usb cord. After realizing my lame error, I plugged it in with the right usb cord, but it was still locked up. I kept it plugged in, and reset it. After that it worked with no problems.

Unable to download pictures from camera t1031 to PC

Some you need a USB cord that plugs into your USB drive, and it will assist you when you need to upload them. These instructions, again, depend on your camera and PC model. If you have a camera that uses a data chip, it would plug into the K drive of your computer, which is usually below the USB drive (it is on mine.) It would look like a thin, long plug that is on the side of your computer that would look like the side that you plug the chip into. Again, this depends on your PC, camera, and your method of uploading the pictures.

I am unable to download my pics onto my computer. As soon as I plug in cord going into the "AV/Out Digital" spot on the camera, the camera turns off. It will not stay on. I checked the battery and it is...

All cameras do this. As soon as you plug in the cord, the display will turn black. It is completely normal.
If the pictures aren't showing up on computer, make sure the latest drivers are downloaded for your camera. Also you can use, picture transfer or kodak easy share program to download.
Another way is to go to 'my computer" than either f: or g: drive should have your camera on it. You can access pictures here and drag n drop into another file.

My USB cord quit working

If the pictures are stuck in your internal camera memory, you will need a cord to get them off unelss you can transfer them to your memory card first. You should be able to copy the pics there.
