If it is not making it to Windows at all...Generally occurs when two devices are using the same IRQ or memory allocation. This can sometimes be set in BIOS depending on the manufacturer etc. I would start by going in BIOS and restoring the default settings. There should be a menu item in BIOS usually something like "Restore Default".
If it is making it to windows then you probably just have a missing or corrupt driver. Generally this would fall under a chipset driver which can be downloaded for free from hp's site. You can also download and run Everest or SIW to properly id the device in question.

Resource Conflicts errors for PCI in Slot 01

hey carl - first thing - laptop or desk top - if desk top (tower) remove all slotted cards and boot system - when it boots completely to home screen. shut down and insert 1 card at a time until you recieve you nasty screen. or boot into safe mode f10 or12 get in and disable all your cards -windows system- control panel - then turn on one by one doing a reboot - when you do find the conflicting card you should be able to figure which card or cards they conflict to - you will have to change the resource allocations on probable 2 or 3 cards to allow all to work - there all lots of sites that will explain this better - hope this helped

Bus: 06, Device: 01, Function: 00 ERROR Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller in Slot 02 Bus: 06, Device: 02, Function: 00 ERROR Resource Conflict - PCI in Slot 03 Bus: 06, Device: 04, Function:...

I would firstly reboot and if that doesn't clear the error run www.iobit.com asc.setup utility to remove crosslinked files and sort out a crosslinked registry. Failing that remove the driver from the Control Panel and let the OS set up a fresh driver. Make sure the driver is the correct one!

When starting the laptop acer 5100 it tyries to start and it shows the following Bus 06, device 02 ,function 00 error resource conflict pci in slot 03 bus 06 device 04 function...

If it just started doing this all of a sudden, then it is a good bet that *********** board is fried. If you just installed some memory or a communications card or new drive, then take it out and see if it still does it. If not, check the installation instructions to make sure it was put in right.

You should try clearing the cmos battery. It's a small battery on the motherboard that can be taken off. Take it off for 20 minutes and put it back in. Then boot up again.
