Here are three ways to find this information: 1. Within the browser interface of the Router, enter Maintenance and the WAN PORT is your dynamic address assigned by your ISP. 2. Enter the telnet interface (start-run-telnet 192.168.0.1-and enter password when prompted) of your Router and enter menu 24.1 (System Maintenance-Status) and the dynamic address is listed as the WAN IP address. 3. Enter the Serial Manager (except the RP114) of the Router and enter menu 24.1 (System Maintenance-Status) and the dynamic address is listed as the WAN IP address.

What is the IP address for my Firestick?

The IP address of an item, unless you specifically assign it one, is done automatically by the router when it connects to the network. This address can be different each time the device connects depending upon what other devices are already connected.

My asus wl-500gP v2 can't connect to the wan properly... I get the message "you have set the wrong dynamic or stic IP address for you WL-500gP V2." I'm confused because I have it set to dynamic which...

Your ISP address is dynamic, which means every time you log on to your ISP, your WAN IP address changes, this helps to stop hacking. Your ISP even though it is cable uses PPPoE/PPPoA, so you should set your router to this, not dymamic, setting your router to dynamic will make your router look for a different IP address every time your computer tries to log to it, your computer should have e.g 192.168.1.2, which is static, you can check this by going to command prompt and typing ipconfig, see what it brings up. hope this helps and post back if you need further help.

Linksys wireless camera--viewable if ISP uses dynamic IPs?

Ok, everything by default hands out dynamic ip addresses. If the camera is plugged into the network it will automatically pick up an ip address and you would be able to see it in your router config page. Try attaching the camera to the wireless network and then log into your router and look for attached devices. Let me know if you get stuck and where you get stuck.

Get router started

Have you tried entering your username and password for your isp provider? You have to enter the config page of your router and enter this information there.

IP address

Hi tammyhope,
I would guess that your ISP is providing a dynamic IP address for connectivity to the internet. If your router is changing the IP address back to default, I would think that your configuration is not setup properly, to receive a dynamic address, but is set with a static address instead. So what happens is that when you attempt to connect to your ISP your router is resetting. If this is the case then you need to go into the router configuration and set it to recieve a dynamic address from your ISP.

How does e-mail work through the Prestige 310 ?

It depends on what kind of IP you have: Static or Dynamic. If your company has a domain name, it means that you have a static IP address. Suppose your company's e-mail address is [email protected]. Joe and Debbie will be able to send e-mail through Prestige 310 Internet Access Sharing Router using [email protected] and [email protected] respectively as their e-mail addresses. They will be able to retrieve their individual private and secure e-mail, if they have been assigned the proper access right. If your company does not have a domain name, it means that your ISP provides you with a dynamic IP address. Suppose your company's e-mail address is [email protected]. Jane and John will be able to send e-mail through Prestige 310 Internet Access Sharing Router using "jane" and "john" respectively as their e-mail addresses. Again, they will be able to retrieve their individual private and secured e-mail, if they have been assigned the proper access right.

I have DSL but it is a direct connection from my DSL modem to my USB connector in the back of my computer, can I use the RT314, RT311, RP114, FR314, FR318 Router as a Firewall?

No, because if there are no Ethernet connections on your DSL modem, there is no way you will be able to connect into a Router that uses Ethernet.
