Need memory for Gateway Desktop Model (GM) MFATXPNT MDW500X computer made in the fall of 2003. Where can I find memory for a model this old?

PC dead
monitor dead
XP dead
using wrong VGA port (both ends)
btw XP talks to the monitor. only.
fans dead.
power LED blink (means bad)
monitor 2010 or older , bad CCFL back lamps.

last on XP on earth ? the virus magnet?

What is the problem, opening the case should be fairly straight forward

8 years is ancient for computers. There are USB receivers that are wireless.

Go to Gateway Support website and type your serial number. All drivers for this model will be listed.

Hmm since your documentation is conflicting i would suggest that you use this little app www.sisoftware.net
Theres a free version and it will tell you everything you need to know about your computer and even suggest improvements and upgrades. You should easily find out how much ram it can take.

I think that motherboard is actually an Intel D865GLC; there's lots of info available on the intel site. Here's the manual: (http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d865glc/sb/cs-008973.htm).
Look at the manual and see if it matches up. If it is a D865, it looks like it uses DDR memory, up to 3 or 4 GB (4 slots)

In all likelyness your motherboard at a minimum is dead. Take it to a technician to check and submit a claim through your house insurance
