Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Console: PS2 (Older version) Problem: Was playing a game and the conole suddenly turned off. Tried to switch in on again but couldnt. I think power is not suppied to the console. Any suggestions ????

Do you have it hooked up to the computer or the modem.The ethernet from the console connects into the modem so firewall should not be an issue.Also,most games only support the 2 latest versions of the game for online play.If you are getting a could not find server message or something similar,your game is no longer online playable.Like now would be Madden 2009 and 10 only.If you have it hooked up like I said,just post a comment to this and I will get an auto email with your comment.

How do i get ps2 games to play on my ps3

The only way how to play PS2 games on PS3 is to have the correct version of the console. Either your Playstation 3 can play PS and PS2 games or it can't, and there's not much to do about it. Most of the PS3 models simply cannot play older titles as they lack the necessary hardware and firmware. However, a few models do have backwards compatibility. The 20 Gb, 60 Gb, and original 80 Gb models all have backwards compatibility, either through hardware or software emulation. The other models lack backwards compatibility, so even knowing how to play PS2 games on PS3 won't help you out much here.

You're stuck not being able to play, you need to get the slim PS2's because they reconverted the discs for a new disc encoding.

What's up with Guitar Hero World Tour disc not loading on the older PS2?

I think maybe that the guitar hero world tour is to new for the old ps2. I think that it only works on new ps2's.

What you need to do is quick format your ps3 drive, after you do that, it will play ps3 games again

I look all over the net but could't find anything, until i found a site that said they could show me how to fix any problem with my ps3. Playing a european PAL game on a canadian NTSC console

Go to a search engine like www.metacrawler.com and search for "Swap Magic". The Emotion Engine processor that is reading the data from the game is told not to read certain Discs if the region code does not match the conoles country code. It mayl save a game to the memory card but not play the game or run the movie.

If your PS2 is chipped for playing PS2 fake games then try the following steps: 1)Insert the DVD movie in your PS2 and hold the power button of PS2 until it light goes red. 2)Now again hold the power button until the light turns in green. and after that your DVD movie should work. ________________________________________________ If above solution does not works replace the lens with a new one.

Playstation2 console will only play playstation1 discs

get a new ps2 if you play a ps1 game for more then 3 hours on a ps2 console it will revert back to ps1 it confuses the harddrive ~Grim
