    Still will not format

  • Debbie Futrell Aug 27, 2011

Tried doing what you said about the drive and the letters but never saw that so I could have done something wrong on my end but the computer will freeze up for a while then it will start again so it couod be somethng going on there to keep it from formating . I will try it again today but don't think it will do any good.

Hello,

The operating system of your player is corrupt. Format it with your computer by following the below steps. If the below doesn't help, then you will have to install the firmware of your player to repair/fix the OS. This will make the player work like before.

Connect the player to your computer, using a USB cord.

Wait a while for the computer to recognize and download the player.

After that, to "Computer", you will see a drive representing the player. The drive could be drive F: G: or H:

Right click on the drive, scroll to format. Allow the player format.

Disconnect the USB cord from the computer and player and try again.

Formatting doesn't help, then you will to re-install the player's firmware.

Regards.

I bought my kids sylvania smp2200 mp3 players. drug songs over from itunes. only one song will play even though I plug it in to the computer and it shows many songs and will easily play on the computer. ...

Check the format of the songs you moved over from Itunes.
The smp2200 will only work with MP1, MP2, MP3, and WMA formats. You can check this by looking at the files on your computer.

Good luck.

Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?

Hi,

1. Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse?
= This is probably because the format that your songs are currently in is not supported by your device. Supported devices on the Mach Speed Eclipse 180 MP3 player are: mp3, wav, and wma. If your music is for example filename.cda, it won't be able to play because of the file format being .cda.

2. I also see the song on the eclipse but it says drm protected and will not play the song.
= When ripping your music, check your ripping options in whichever ripping software you are using that protecting music files is off, this may be the reason why your music cannot play - it may be protected to only play on the computer that ripped(recorded or duplicated) the song.

I've downloaded songs but they don't show up on my player

Each mp3 player can only play songs in certain formats. A Philips GoGear, for instance, can't read iTunes format. Some players cannot read DRM-encrypted WMA files, which is what most music services use. When you load a song in the wrong format to an mp3 player, the song appears to transfer, but the mp3 player won't actually play it. The best workaround for this problem is to only load songs that are in true mp3 format - they are accepted by 99% of digital audio players. If you give us your manufacvturer/model #, and music service name, we can tell you exactly which formats your player plays.

Run the Sansa Recovery Tool and just start over from scratch. Only use songs that are in mp3 format if you don't want grief later.
