I am getting an error code of C:31:22 when I start the camcorder. Can you please help me to know what the issue is? Thanks

In DCRTRV430 Camcorder, the C:31:42 error message is a Self diagnostic display. This message can be clearly identified by the help of a Sony Authorized service technician. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camcorder. In C:31:42, the issue is with the tape and the tape mechanism.

I suggest that you remove and reinsert the tape to check if it helps. You may also try inserting new tapes in the Camcorder. Please remove the battery and/or power cable, connect, and perform operations from the beginning. You may also try resetting the Camcorder back to factory default after removing the tape.

To Reset the Camcorder, perform the steps below:

? Please open the LCD screen to locate the RESET button.

? To reset the Camcorder, press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.

? Please make sure that the Camcorder is turned on while pressing the reset button.

Also, try turning off the Camcorder and remove the battery pack. Then move the 'Power Switch' of the Camcorder to the ON position

for 1 minute. After about 1 minute, move the 'Power Switch' to the OFF position.

Now reinsert the battery, turn on the Camcorder and check whether it is working fine.

Error C 31:23 is caused due to bad Gear assembly, to resolve this issue with the battery &cassette removed try whacking the camera sideways, if after doing this still the issue is not resolved then you'll have to get the Gear assembly replaced. If the issue still persists, reset the Camcorder.

Please open the LCD screen to locate the RESET button.

To reset the Camcorder, just press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object.

Please make sure that the Camcorder is turned ON while pressing the RESET button.

If the issue still persists, please Power Reset the Camcorder and check if that helps.

To power reset the Camcorder, please remove the Battery Pack from the Camcorder and then set the Power Switch to ON for 15 seconds.

Then, reinsert the Battery Pack after 1 minute and check if that helps.

make sure all your computers drivers are up-to-date. If they are then make sure you have the latest service pack for your particular OS.

Sony camcorder has self diagnostic function inbuilt and if it detects any problem in listed sections it will start beeping, you can check error code that would be like C:31:10 or some thing on top right corner of LCD, let me know that error code to find out problem section in camcorder.

Please try Power Resetting the Camcorder.
First, please turn OFF the Camcorder.
Then, remove the battery pack from the Camcorder.
Then, press and hold the POWER button on the Camcorder for 30 seconds.
Then, reinsert the battery pack and check whether the issue is resolved.

Not good. It sound as though it will need the disc mechanism unit replaced.

Error code E:31:00 shows problem in Hard Disk. Try to power up camera while attached with PC, you might get access to its HD.

Replace the CMOS battery and reset the BIOS to default settings. This will resolve the issue.
