Presario problem the computor is totally innactive but theon switch is illuminated together with the wireless icon but nothing else is active on my grandaughters presario can you help

I believe there are 6 general illumination bulbs plus 1 for each paticular warning/signal/trans signals-about 16 or so total

Exterior Wireless Switch
Step 1
Position the laptop so that you're facing the screen and the keyboard is in front of you.
Step 2
Check the front edge of the laptop's casing.
Step 3
Identify the wireless indicator light labeled with a wireless antenna icon. The "On/Off" switch to the left of the indicator light is the wireless switch.
Step 4
Move the switch to the "Off" position to deactivate the wireless adapter or move it to the "On" position if you want to power on the wireless adapter.
On-Screen Wireless Switch
Step 1
Press and hold down the "Fn" function key on the computer's keyboard to display the laptop's hotkey card icons on the screen.
Step 2
Click the "Wireless" icon on the screen or press the corresponding hotkey button on the keyboard, typically the "F8" key on a Toshiba laptop.
Step 3
Click the "Wireless On" or "Wireless Off" icon in the options list below the hotkey card icon to activate or deactivate all wireless connections. If your laptop has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, you can also choose to activate or deactivate these services separately.

Look for a switch for the wireless or a function key that has the wireless icon, the function keys are usually labeled F1,F2, etc and they have icons on top of them, to activate the wireless one, just press ALT and the key together, you should see the wireless light come on.

The wireless switch is located on the side or front of the laptop.

Once you have the switch turned on you can also use keystrokes to toggle the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the bottom left of the keyboard then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))). When you toggle the wireless it will display on the screen Wireless On or Wireless Off.

Basically enter the routers ip address (192.168.1.1) in your browser. If you router has default configurations, then enter the username as "admin" and the password as "password." Navigate to "wireless settings" and then on that page you configure your network.

It is usually on the right front corner, just below the edge of the cover/screen. Look at the laptop from the front, and follow the edge all the way to the right. At the very corner of the right front of this laptop, you will see a tiny icon in blue and silver. Push it in once, and to its right, there will be a blue and silver icon light up. That is your wireless switch.

Here is all I know about Compaq Presario wireless switches. Sorry, but w/o a model I can't be more specific.
Compaq Presario, Model not specified - Button on the Back
C304NR - Button on upper right above keyboard deck, Blue is enabled
CQ Series - Button above the keyboard (antenna icon on button) next to power.

Was this card bought brand new? Make sure the card is seated properly in the slot and look for the lights to flash when you first start the PC. If that doesn't work, try switching the card to a different slot and restarting to see if the computer detects it on it's own afterwards. If nothing still appears, you may have bought a faulty card.

U will probably have to take it to an expert.

if your wireless adapter is working, go to control panel>network connections, right click on your wireless adapter icon and select enable or connect, if nothing happens then you may have faulty hardware.
