Hello nelsonmugo, try to check device manager in control panel, if there is mark (question or exclamation mark) on network adapter or unknown device then u need to install your network adapter. this is the step: 1. insert motherboard driver to CDROM/DVDROM 2. right click on the mark then choose update driver. 3. follow the step and click next, choose recommended search. your driver will be installed automatically.
if there is no mark on network adapter or unknown device, then high probabilities there is damage on your onboard adapter (hope it's not happen).
hope this useful, regards.

all the driver's needed can be downloaded from the intel support web site: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx (just copy your system board's model number into the search box)
