Epson C48 No B/W print, colour working fine

This printer has only had light use. It is printing in colour, but not in black and white. All the cartriges are almost full. Anyone out there who might have a suggestion to restore black and white? It seems a shame to bin it!!

I was low on black ink and needed to print flyers , the Epson 630 asked me if i would like to continue printing and use other colors , i pushed yes, and have changed out ink and its still prints in r

Is it possible that you accidentally put the wrong colour cartidges in the wrong spots? Otherwise, it should work fine. Also, the printer's default is usually to print in colour, therefore even pages in black and white will usr colour, which uses up coloured ink. Always check the prooerties when printing to switch to b&w:)

Epson Stylus Photo 870 only prints black and white

WHen your p;;rinter name comes up, check the printing p;references. You have "P:rint colors as black & white" checked. Un check it. It is in the printer dialog box, not PSP.

Epson cx3200 wrong colour

It is possible that when the printer senses not enough black ink it will swap to using the colour tanks to try and make a BLACK.

It is also possible that you have mistakenly adjusted a setting in the epson printer program to use the colour tanks to print black and white photographs.

Either of those would certainly cause the problem you describe

Check ALL your printer settings both the windows ones AND your epson ones

I recently changed the colour cartridge and now the printer wont print colour. Black works - ish. I have troubleshooted and did everything recommended eg clean print heads, nozzles, align heads etc....

Please see the online guide at:

http://support.epson-europe.com/onlineguides/en/sc48/refg/ref_g/

and click on Replacing Ink Cartridges. To change a cartridge before it is low or empty you must press the maintenance button AND the power button at the same time, or use the print utility.

If the new cartridge also fails to produce print, come back with a new comment for further help.

Epson 1290 - I just want to print in black and white

Unfortunately, Epson printers demand that both black and colour cartridges are OK before the printer will work at all. Now, if you are really sure that you only want to print black, the most cost-effective solution for you is to buy an Epson Chip resetter on E-Bay. This will reset your empty colour cartridge to "full", as far as the printer is concerned. You can then happily continue with your black-only printing.

Epson R265 printing colours incorrectly

For the black and white issue, check the settings and make sure that it isn't set on "sepia". As for the color issue, it is quite possible that you are out of ink. Printers may use more of one color than another depending on what you're printing. Change your color cartridge.
