SOURCE: Router W/o cd or manual how to get to work with pc.

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.254. Then hit "ENTER".

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default both the username and password are blank. Click the Ok button to log in to your router. That should get you in, but if you get kicked out, because of wrong username or password. On the back of the router should have reset switch or button in a small hole. Press and hold that for about a minute. Should reset to factory default. Sorry forgot to say that you will need to use a paper clip to fit into reset switch. The big paper clip is the best and it needs to be straighten a little.

SOURCE: How can I secure my network with one main computer

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

I have lost the security code and have a new laptop, how do i set it up to work

Hi!

If you don't remeber the wireless security code, maybe you still remeber the user and password to access the web management interface of the router.
Then you have to connect the laptop to the router by using a network cable. Open a browser window, type in the IP adress of your router and check the wireless setup section. There you can find / modify the wifi security code.

If you don't know the router's IP adress, then open on your computer a ms-dos prompt and type the command
ipconfig /all

it will display your current IP adress, subnet mask and GATEWAY. The gateway adress is the router's IP adress that must be typed into the browser.

If you don't remember the user and password for accessing the router's web interface, please refer to the router's user manual in order to reset it to factory default configuration, and then proceed as for the first installation of the router.

Hope it helped,

Bogdan

Need ssid network name, password also .using netwave base G4(OOE098A46AA2) i am conneting wirelss h/p printer

Good Day,

Your SSID is the name for the Wireless network that you have setup. If you are not sure i would suggest using on your HP hardware Automatic Wireless Configuration this will detect any Wireless Signal in range and show the SSID. The one with the highest signal should be your SSID. If your network is secured, now off course you will need to know the WEP or any other encryption key in order to successfully connect. If you don't have that you are pretty much back at square 1. I would also suggest if this router was provided by an ISP or another 3rd party to review underneath the equipment sometimes this information is posted there SSID & Wireless Security Key. If you are still in need of help and want to get printing right away I recommend contacting Live-Tech. This company will get you all setup for a real low cost. Visit: http://www.myLive-Tech.com

I have a Netwave Base G4 wireless router w/ 4- port switch, trying to network two computers via cable modem using local ports, modem and router not communicating

You need to change the LAN IP address of your router. Open the router's admin through http://192.168.1.1 and look for router's IP address or Local IP Address. Change it to 192.168.10.1 and save the settings. Reboot the router after that. If you are on cable internet , you need to do MAC Cloning. Access the router's admin page and look for MAC Clone settings. Enable and clone the PC's Mac Address. Save the settings and power cycle the router and the modem after that.

Don't have manual or cd

This will show you how to get into the router. Even though these are the steps for port fowarding. You should still be able to set up your router with these instructions:

NetWave Base G4 router "goes to sleep"

well one thing if your router uses the same IP address as your hughes net then they will interfere with each other. hook your router to your pc and leave the hughes modem out of the equation then go to command prompt on your pc and type in ipconfig that will tell you what ip address your router is using that way you can get into the settings of the router and change whatever you need to change.....I would just set it back to default and make sure the ip address is not 192.168.0.1 because that is the dynamic ip for hughes
