The following is for the DI-514, DI-524, DI-604, DI-614+, DI-624, DI-624S, DI-754, DI-764, DI-774, and DI-784 routers. To perform a reset, please follow steps below: Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset. Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release. Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure. Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset. Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults. If you have the European version of this router, this procedure may not work. Please consult the D-Link office near you. D-Link USA does not support the European version.

Need password to my netgear router n 300

what is the model #?
Most netgear routers default to a username of "admin" and password is either " admin ", "password" or it is just blank. Those are the defaults unless someone changed it.
If you cant get in you can hold down the reset button on the back for 30 seconds (while it is plugged into power) and that will set it back to factory default settings then one of the above should work.
If this was a help please give me 4 thumbs up as I am trying to build up my rep on this site!

A few months ago someone was getting into my router & downloading movies, I assume. Had a tech help me put in a password to secure it. Forgot the password & now can't use my ipod touch at home. Any...

Yes there is.. BUT you'll have to set up the security again... Fortunately DLink has a handy setup wizard which you can access here.. http://support.dlink.com/emulators/di514_revc/h_wizard.html
This will work right on your browser. You might want to test that it works on your system before wiping the router. (Just start it up then cancel if it starts)

Find the recessed reset button on back of the router close to the power input. Press and hold it with paper clip or pen tip for 10 - 15 seconds. This will restore it to factory settings.

You should use a wired connection to access the internet after that, no password. Go to the link above and use the online wizard to setup the router with encrytion and new password.

If it all orks wout for you kindly give me a rating. Thanks.

I forgot my Password for NETGear WGT624 Please help

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

or

if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

hope this helps

All the lights or on.On my router. But I cant it on

A couple times a year I have to reset my WRT54G back to the factory defaults. There are a couple of methods to do this.

Reset Button Note:
Resetting the router to the factory defaults will delete any changes you have made to the router, including any security settings. This should be used as a last resort.

The first method involves simply pressing a button located on the back of the router. The image below (courtesy of Linksys) shows where the button is located.
linksys-reset.png To reset your router, use the following steps:
  1. Press the reset button for 30 seconds. The settings should now be returned to the factory default settings, meaning any changes you had made would be deleted.
  2. Open up your Web browser and enter “192.168.1.1? in the address bar.
  3. For the login, leave a blank ID and enter “admin” as the password.
The router has now been reset. You'll need to go back in and set up any passwords or wireless security you had set up before.
Through the Web Administration Pages The second method involves logging into the Web administration pages of the router. Use the following steps to reset the router using this method:
  1. Open your Web browser and enter the IP address of your router. By default, the address is “192.168.1.1?.
  2. Enter your user ID And password when prompted. Hopefully this has been changed, but if it hasn’t, the default is no ID and “admin” as the password.
  3. At the top of the Web page, click “Administration” and then “Factory Defaults”.
  4. Beside “Restore Factory Defaults”, click “Yes”.
  5. Now click the “Save Settings” button at the bottom of the Web page.
The router should now be reset to the factory defaults. Again, you'll need to go back in and set up any passwords or wireless security you had set up before.
