Take it apart IMMEDIATELY and remove the battery. Then pack both of them in rice to absorb the water. If you have other water absorbent material even better. Leave it there for at least 2 days to dry - be patient. Maybe you can start it again if it's totally dry inside.
Usually
when touch screens don't work, it is due to water damage. You can bring
your phone to your carrier's nearest store and ask someone that works
there to check if your phone suffered water damage. They'll check the
inside of your phone. If that's the case, you'll probably have to buy a
new one. If you're insured this shouldnt be TOO expensive. But if you
bring it to the store and it's NOT water damage, they should replace
the phone for free! Hope this helped Please rate my solution! - Frankie
some time it happens. touch phone screen has always two things first L.C.D means screen and touch panel which is the top of the L.C.D. if your phone touch is not working it could be the touch panel is gone damage. it happens when if you dropped your phone on floor and when its water or liquid damage. you need go to any samsung service centre or any phone repair shop
call and get it replaced. DONT TELL them about the water. simply state it doesnt make calls and get them to send you a waranty replacement. It is free, but remember to tell them there is no damage to the phone, as long as the white dot is still white and the phone doesnt look physically damaged you are good to go
i have had this problem also but not with it getting wet. i have bought a new digitizer (touch pad which you can get of amazon by looking for a lgkc910 digitizer) i am yet to have it replaced but if it doesnt come down to that i think it have had damage to the motherbord or needs software updates
ive had a similar problem... but what i did is i looked at what the insurance does cover... since it doesnt cover water damage.. defect the phone in some way that the insurance will cover. its only if you're in desperate need. there is no way to fix water damage... but i know PLENTY of tricks to soak water out of the phone
Hi, I had the same problem. Whenever, I touched my screen the wrong things would respond, then finally one day my phone locked & when I tried to unlock it the screen wouldn't respond at all.Took my phone to 3 sprint stores and all the techs couldn't help. One even accused water damage or overheating because they saw spots under my screen. But I never wet my phone so I thought it might be overheating since I do live in a warm climate. They all tried to get me to buy a new phone, which seemed like a scam. I didn't want to hard reset & lose all my data so I looked closer at the screen & noticed the spots didn't look like water spots & peeled the screen back. I noticed that the glue from around the screen actually leaked onto the screen, so I dampened one end of a q-tip & wiped the glue off the dryed it with the other end. I turn the phone back on and the screen worked fine. Try cleaning thr screen before doing a hard reset or paying for a replacement phone. It'll save you time & headache.
Hope this helps =)
Once you drop a phone in water if the battery is plugged in it will short circuit all the links that the water touches. It is quite possible that it is only the screen not working. But my guess is that the phone is a goner. You may want to search ebay or craigslist for a replacement as your model of phone will have a water damage indicator installed.
