My camera will not turn on even after charging it for a long time. The battery works in other cameras except mine so the battery is not the problem. Why will my camera not turn on?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Battery exhausted even after charging.

There are two possibilities. First, rechargeable batteries do not last forever. Take out your rechargeable batteries and replace them with non-rechargeable ones for test purposes. If your camera works ok, it may be that the camera's charger circuit has gone bad. Try charging your batteries on an external charger. If they charge, it is your camera's charger, if they do not hold a charge, it is probably time for new rechargeable batteries.

Won't turn on after charging

It happened exactly the same to me. What I did is just plug the cam to my Mac while Flipshare was running and just waited till it woke up. Took around 10min. :)

Camera will not turn on and battery is fully charged

Hi I am Vortash I know this might sound silly but check the battery is in the correct way round .. if your like me and changed the batteries to my easy share I forgot a couple of times and put them in the wrong way round ..( even we make mistakes ) reversersal of the batteries cured my problem and added to my embaressment lol .. other than that check the batteries havent leaked and if they have look in the battery compartment for signs of damage rust etc .. and if you are still using the easy share battery that came with the camera .. it might say it is charged but may not be mine was dead and wouldnt charge afyer about 6 months use .. Won't stay on

Mine does this all the time, I just try to push on the bottom where the batteries go in to make sure it maintains a solid connection. Also i just recharge them again, It seems every single time I use my camera I have to recharge the batteries, regardless of how long I used them.

Camera won't turn on.

Make sure the battery contacts are clean. The rechargable batteries looses their charge even when they are not in use. It is important to fully charge the first time the rechargable batteries.

Lens stuck, green Power light flashes, nothing happens.

get a butter knife or any thin object like that and use it to push out the lens and turning it on at the same time  you will hear a clicking noise which is normal  once completely out, use your hand with a gentle but firm presure move it form left to right
and then hopefully it should work after that

High battery consume

Short in the camera so you do not get proper switch off even when you switch the camera off ( so it stays on all the time ). Or your charger is not fully charging your batteries which then go into your camera say half charged and dont last very long.

Nikon coolpix L4 won't take pictures & turns off

I have the same camera & personally, I hate it. My camera does that all the time, sometimes, it takes a while for the picture to actually take. Try holding down the button for a while, that's what I have to do with mine. The camera sucks up all the battery energy with only a few picture takes which I really don't understand. I think that's also why it's cutting off while you're using it. Does the phrase, "Warning: Batteries exhausted" sound familar, especially right before the camera shuts off? Oh, & before I go, my personal advice to you is: Get a new camera. I don't even know why I bought mine, soon I'm getting a new one. Yay. I hope this helped you, sorry about the camera problems. Much luck! :D

Camera won't turn on

Had the same problem, took a pencil eraser and scrubbed the battery contacts (both on the battery door and down in the camera), blew out the crumbs and all is well! Camera now powers up and works like new.
