Hi,
Your problem could be very simply a ignitor/flame sensor or it could be the ignition control...
I could tell you in a bout ten minutes exactly what part is causing the problems if I could get my hands on your heater with my meter to check the parts...
If you are good with an electrical meter you can check through the schematic to tell where the problem lies...then replace the part....
Bottom line if it is the ignition control then you are better off replacing... they are half the cost of a new heater...if is is the ignitor then they are fairly inexpensive and very easy to change...
