How do I reset my router back to the factory default settings?
The following is for the DI-514, DI-524, DI-604, DI-614+, DI-624, DI-624S, DI-754, DI-764, DI-774, and DI-784 routers. To perform a reset, please follow steps below: Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset. Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release. Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure. Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset. Resetting the router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will change all settings back to factory defaults. If you have the European version of this router, this procedure may not work. Please consult the D-Link office near you. D-Link USA does not support the European version.

The router's admin page is http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 and
the default password should be either "admin" or "password" without
quotes. There should be a choice under "Setup" called "Factory Reset".
That will erase the settings and reset it like new.
Alternatively, you can follow the procedure as given below on all the brands I've tried (Belkin, D-Link, Linksys)
1. hold the reset button for 30 seconds (don't release)
2. unplug the power (still holding reset) for 10 seconds
3. plug power back in (still holding reset)
4. hold reset for another 30 seconds - the lights will usually begin flashing in some odd pattern
5. release the reset button
6. wait 1 full minute or until the lights stop flashing
7. unplug the power for 10 seconds, just to do a reboot
8. verify the settings (e.g. SSID) are back to the defaults

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.
or
if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings
hope this helps

Reset There are two ways to reset the Router's
factory defaults. Either press and hold the Reset
Button for approximately five seconds, or restore
the defaults from Administration > Factory
Defaults in the Router's web-based utility.
There should be a small hole with a red circle around it on the back of the router next to the power plug hole. Use a pin or straighten paper clip to push the tiny button.
