Yes, this mothereboard can actually supports up to 4GIG of RAM , so probably the problem lies on the RAM that you have, If you're using 2 or more piece or ram to this motherboard make sure they are the same brand because sometimes you will have problem like this if the memory are not the same brand...this is the link for the complete specs of the motherboard http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gigabyte-Gigabyte-GA-945P-S3-945-Core-2-Extreme-Core-2-Duo-1066FSB-LGA775-DDR2-ATX-Motherboard-w-Audio-Gigab

Hope that helps..........

HI, i have the gigabyte MB GA-945P-S3- and i saw in GIGABYTE web site that i can go with C2D E8400 but with overclocking and saw awhile ago that there are another problem with the CPU MP in the bios of it...

Only the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 revision 3.3 does allow C2D E8400 or C2D E7500.
However the C2D E8400 only by overclocking, which certainly is not recommended.

So the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 mainboard revision 3.3, should work with the C2D E7500
with BIOS version FFd and FSB setting at 1066 MHz.

Hi mine wont show screen at all! i reset ram no help. i turn it on no screen n after about 20 secs it has one long beep?? i cant tell if its loading or not!

the long beep indicates faulty ram oir graphics card, i would say ram, you also need to reset the bios, via the cmos jumper or battery, continuous long beep is a dram error, so the ram is faulty, get some new ram and make sure its specs match the computer

GA-8KNXP 4 X 1 GB Ram Bios shows 3.500 GB

Hi,
This is because you are running 32 bit system. 32 bit system can only use up to 4GB RAM theoritically but some only 3.5 GB RAM.
Only 64 bit systems can use 4GB RAM and more.

2 GB DDR2 on Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H Motherboard

Hello

That's normal condition. Probably your RAM shares it's capacity with internal video card (which uses the whole 256MB)

Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 short beep codes on cold boot. Tried reseating RAM, didn't help. system runs fine after beeping stops

Using the manual for the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 MB. Go to page 71 & you'll see bios beep codes for your board: AWARD BIOS Beep Codes 1 short: System boots successfully 2 short: CMOS setting error 1 long 1 short: DRAM or M/B error 1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error 1 long 3 short: Keyboard error 1 long 9 short: BIOS ROM error Continuous long beeps: DRAM error Continuous short beeps: Power error As you can see there isn't a code for three short beeps. When you boot your system try to pause your boot up screen. See if the bios is reporting the correct total of memory in your system. Bios codes from the link below. http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#05 3 beeps for the AMI bios code reports Base 64K RAM failure. You can test your memory. Go to memtest.org Scroll down the site to just under the three screen shots. Download Memtest86+ V2.11 You have a choice in making a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD-ROM disk. Once completed you boot your system to the testing program. Memtest will check your system memory. This should help. Thanks for using FixYa! Mike
