Fridge freezer NEFF K3965x0/01 side by side, not cooling or freezing properly, after defrosting it worked wonders for 2 weeks and now back to weak, what needs fixing or replacing please? and how much would the part cost?

Check your freezer temp. If it is not 10 degrees or less the icemaker will not work.

And if the temp does not go below that you have a problem with your cooling unit - perhaps the defrost cycle is not working and you have ice accumulating in back of freezer. Check for that.

Hi Rob,

The problem in your case is most probably with the defrost thermostat.

It can be found on the evaporator i.e. freezing coils , it's round disc like with two wires.

If you get this replaced with a new proper working unit ,

Also make sure you replace the defrost timer as well if the problem persists.

The defrost board is not functioning properly.;

When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool.Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 4 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. sounds like your defrost timer is not working properly . Most fridge/freezers the fridge gets cooled from the cool air from the freezer . But when the defrost timer is not working properly the section between the fridge and freezer freezes up and hence doesnt allow the flow of cool air into the fridge. The defrost timer can be easily replaced.
