SONY camera - black photo

Hi
Suddenly my camera has always a black photo ( I cant take any picture) I reseted to factor setting but no way

some techinician said there is a system problem I can see old pictures I have taken on the viewfinder, but any new pictures I try to take come out completely black in any mode. Also, when trying to take a picture in any mode, the viewfinder is black, except for the digital displays and setting that appear on the viewfinder.

Sadly, I purchased this product 13 months ago. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a Sony cyber shot DSC-W80

Not that it helps at all, but I have the same problem with my sony DSC 80 but its because I dropped it in a river. It works just fine, other than the fact that it takes black pictures now.

How to set up for black & white pictures?

Change the image characteristic to "Monochrome". See pages 110 and 112 of the Advanced Manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300004730/02/eosrt3-eos1100d-im2-c-en.pdf

In general, you're better off shooting in color and converting to B&W on the computer. Just about any image editing program will give you much more control over the conversion than the camera does. You can control factors such as contrast and luminosity much better on the computer.

How is possible to set black and white picture on Sony DSC-H55

Sorry, this camera does not have a black-and-white mode. You can do the conversion using just about any photo editing program on a computer. Doing so on a computer will give you much better control over factors such as brightness and contrast, as well as allowing you to apply filter effects.

Cant find my manual where in d camera do i go 2 set it in black and white mode 4 pictures?

I don't believe this camera has a black&white mode. You can convert color photos to black and white using just about any photo editing program.

You can download the manual and the Cybershot handbook from the manufacturer's web site at

Screen is blank but still takes pictures fine

Try removing the battery or reseting the unit if there is a reset button. Otherwise it sounds like the screen died.

Nikon D100: suddenly all the pictures are black

Ellen,
When shooting with the D100 do you have the dial on top of camera set to 'Auto'? If so, then most likely you have some how adjusted to the exposure compensation, so your photos are underexposing.
To reset your camera to the factory default settings:
Hold down the bracket and flash button for two
seconds.
These are the buttons marked with a green dot
Take a test photo and see if that works.

Pictures nearly black (overexposed )

Hi! It's weird that 1/2 of your photos were too dark. You didn't mention about the flash. Eventhough it is on auto mode, at night you still need to turn on the flash manually. Normally, it is a curve arrow pointing downward, you need to point your mode selector there. What brand of camera are you using though?
