My hp pavilion dv6000 is just over a year old. When I turn it on, it starts up and the screen is on for about 5 minutes, then it turns blank. All of the lights are still on, but the screen is black and will not turn back on. Has this happened to anyone else?
I cannot install win xp on my hp pavalion it is already contain win vista and hard disc is SATA type give me a solution

I have the same issue with the black screen. One day is just went black and it hasn't come back since. Unfortunately, my model number is not included in the extended warranty program which is bogus b/c it has all the requirements except for one letter. I hooked up an external monitor and that works so I am able to use it that way, although very inconvenient. I might as well purchased a desk top. I have tried changing out the inverter, however that did nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT AGAIN. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT. THANKS FOR NOTHING HP.

Same thing, log in normally, bang, no warning, black screen.
Lights are on nobodies home!
(mine is a DV 7, 64 bit Visa, less than 5 months old! It's HP, crappy drivers, even crappier attitude when it comes to fixing issues!)
