I bought a Canon T70 Multiple program AE and don't have a manual for it. Need one.

page 74 shows the battery compartment.

The T70 uses two AA batteries. They don't have to be lithiums; alkalines and rechargeable NiCd/NiMHs will work just as well.
The batteries go inside the grip on the right side of the camera, under the lid on the bottom. Push the latch toward the center of the camera and the lid will flip up. Follow the illustrated instructions beginning on page 8 of the manual.

You should press and hold AE button and Shift button at the same time. While still holding the AE button keep pressing the shift button to scroll through the available mode. Refer to page 40 of the manual below for more info

Hi there and welcome to FixYa.

To get your camera back in to AE mode. Press the Mode button, then press either the up or down buttons on top right side of the camera. Look at the little LCD screen. You and to see the word PROGRAM on the screen.

Sounds like an electrical switch problem. Consult a service center or trade up to a secondhand AE-1 w/ winder or Canon G-10 digital camera.

This website has two manuals for the Canon AE-1 camera. I'm not sure about the word "program" in your question. The manuals are in PDF format, and you just need to right-click on the links to "Save Target As," or left-click on them to open and then save from the open document.
