HELLO - is the fan cage held on by 4 or so clear small clips along the body? If so carefully undo the clips and remove the fan's protective cage in front and back, set those 2 main pieces aside.
Keep the small clips 'taped' to a sheet of paper that is marked 'fan clips', taped to the paper with clear scotch tape. So you DON'T lose them (better than placing in your pocket ... ).
Then look at the body of the fan where the blades ARE mounted. There is a large button or front cover like part . Try unscrewing to the left left is loose - right is tight, is the rule to follow. The knob or cover should loosen ...
When that is completely loosened pull it off, and voila!
The blades will be on a single casting of plastic. Or perhaps metal -- that comes off on a thin rod or pin. that has a small bail or ball that will 'click' (or lock / unlock) in forward or reverse as to a pull on / off function. Pull that blade assembly forward UNTIL it clears the fan housing completely.
WASH with mild soap. dry completely & Then with "ALL CLEAN" - reassemble =
replace in reverse steps from before. and ENJOY! (COOL AIR, hopefully).
I have never heard of a fan that had the cover 'screwed' on (with screws) as to a front casing like a nose or giant knob. giant dial with logo like covering. Most if not all were as I described to you. The fit is made to only go so far as to the nose, giant knob, giant dial, etc like cover assembly. They are not really made to 'over or undertighten'.
I am hoping this is all you need to know ... Good luck!
