You most certainly do not want to disassemble the tv. HP has made a valid diagnosis, you would be best off taking the replacement board and tv to a repair shop and have them change it for you. Yeah, it may cost a little, but Plasma TVs have very fragile displays- very easily broken.

I hooked up my cable box up to my sceptre tv and it had sounds but the picture is black and white I even went and bought the blue and green cords but still only black and white

With the blue/green/red cords (Component) you need to get a very good bright light on the connectors so you get the plugged into the correct COMPONENT connectors on the TV. Note, there are white and red AUDIO plugs right near the COMPONENT input so you need to be VERY careful. If you get it wrong, the colors on screen are often off and even black&white.

How is your cable box connected to the TV? Screw on "COAXIAL", Yellow, Red, White "RCA", single flat connector "HDMI" or 5 colored plugs 2 X Red, 1 X White, 1 X Blue, 1 X Green "COMPONENT"

My xbox360 works on my flat screen in color but on my other tv its only black and white... how to fix this?

Do you have it hooked directly to the tv or going through a vcr or other device. Try connecting it directly to the tv. It sounds like the problem is not with the xbox being that it is in color on some tv's, also try a different input on the tv that is black and white.
Thank you,

It started with the tv going from color to black and white and then the screen went completely black but the sound still works. What could be causing this problem?

From your description, it sounds like you may have solder joints on the board connecting to the tube that needs simple re-soldering.

Droped iphone, screen is only white, touch screen works.

put it in DFU mode while connected to the computer. to do this, hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds and then let go of the power but keep on holding the home for 10 secs. the screen will be black and nothing will show up. go to itunes and click on your ipod on the left. then click restore. this should work.

Lg 32lc2r, only showing picture in black and white

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.

BLACK AND WHITE SCREEN AFTER AN HOUR

This is usually caused by the tuner which loses the chrominance part of the NTSC signal. Your did not say how you have it connected but it you try using a composite video input (yellow jack) and get the color OK than it must be the tuner which is not cheap but is worth having replaced.
Hope Ya Fix it!

Same as other poster: Player only plays black and white

It sounds like the circuitry which actuates the color drives for the screen are not working, this would ba analogous to adjusting for a B&W picture on a color TV you have color but the screen shows black and white. I would get a schematic for this set and measure the voltages on the color processor that connects to the screen since you know that the external jack has color. If possible I can help you troubleshoot this, if you need me to help out.
