The ice maker is flashing lights and the ice dispensor door is also opening and closing as the lights flash. I did a 5 minute reset and it continued to do the same thing. Is it the control board or something more serious? The lights continually flash and the door opens

My fridge did the same thing. Your high voltage board in the rear of the unit has gone bad. This is a very common problem and maytag is very aware... They well replace at no cost even out of warranty. As well its a very easy fix. Call then and say you know they replace the board at no cost and have then overnight it to you.

I'm having the same problem. However, Maytag says there is no recall and repair is not covered under warranty. Part (board) costs $205 plus shipping. Who did you call to have the board sent to you at no cost?

    ryg73,

I called the number inside the fridge. But before i let the representative say much i made these points:

    1. the fridge panel is blinking, the ice flap is opening and closing and not it's not keeping cool.
    2. I have done research on the internet to which I KNOW this is a VERY common problem for this type of refridgerator in which the high voltage board has gone bad, and from my research I KNOW that maytag is replacing the board at no cost out of warranty.

I was asked to be put on hold and was told it would be sent in 7 days, to which i replied my food was in coolers (lied about that, fridge was keeping marginally cool) and i needed the part overnighted...

call again, maybe I simply talked to a friendly representative.

    ryg73,

on a side note, I only had them send me the board. I installed myself, takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Maybe they are denying you because your asking for repairs... try to have the board shipped to you and you can install yourself..

Maytag refrigerator stainless steel french door bottom freezer...lights flashing and ice maker opening and closing/making sound

Im thinking maybe a power surge was felt by the refrigerator.

Try unplugging from wall for a couple minutes and then plugging it in again.

Hope this resets it...

Ice maker stopped working, red light is flashing. Water dispensor works fine. Filter is fine.

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about the reasons why ice makers do not work.

Icemaker not working- red light flashes constantly

The red light should flash twice , pause then flash twice constantly . If you close the flap on the left side , then the light should go off . This shows the optics (ice maker cut off ) are good .

Check the black tube ( fill tube ) , which puts water into the ice maker , to see if it is iced inside . If so , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . It seeps into the tube and freezes , blocking the water flow .

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then the water valve needs replaced . If it doesn't dump , and stays frozen in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . Also , make sure the coils under the front of the refrig are clean , as this will cause warmer temp in the freezer and the ice maker needs 5 degrees to operate .

Ice maker door does not close all the way and the ice maker switch that releases the ice when press does not work all the time

Sounds like your saying that the ice dispensor flap is not closing completely which will cause frost on the inside shoot and on the ice bucket . Could be because of a broken guide ( clear plastic piece attached to the ice dispensor arm ) . Need brand and model number to help .

GE Profile Artica - Water & ice dispensor not working.

This could be as simple as the door switch or as complex as the dispenser control board. I would try the door switch first. When the door is close it turns on the dispenser controls. If the contact is defective in the door/light switch then this happens. Unplug remove the door switch and mark wire locations. 1 Powers the lights and the other powers the dispenser. and one is the power itself. Sea Breeze

Ice maker works, fills door but doesn't come out

You have a bad dispensor flap solenoid . Frost due to flap not closing completely and ice will catch in the shoot .

Control pad flashing temp and all lights continuously and ice door continually cycles open and closed

Hi,
With the problems it is presenting, I would say it's very likely.
However it may take a bit of detective work to find which board is defective.

Check a part suppliers link Here for price comparison so you have some ideas.
