I have a maytag dual cool side by side fridge, recently the ice maker has reduced ice production and the ice cubes are not fully formed ( Almost hollow). When you use the water despenser it makes a horriable banging/loud clicking noise, and will not dispense water. The model number is MSD2651HEW

Hi,
It sounds like you have a water flow problem. I would inspect the unit for ice building up in or around the freezer fan motor. If the ice is forming in side the freezer, the trouble could the a restriction in the fill tube. But this does not affect the water dispenser. The noise you hear could be the water line moving when water flows through the line, or your water valve itself could be the problem, like the valve shutters when in use.
The valve is easy to check, its located behind the unit in the back left corner. Remove the screw holding the valve in place, while dispensing water hold the valve and see if the issue is only the valve. If the valve is the issue this could cause both problems you have. Part number 67005154
Water Valve
Good Luck

Our ice maker has stopped making ice. I've replaced the water filter (we are still getting water through the door), the "arm" is in the down position, and the temperature is cold enough. Any...

If the cube slots are empty try filling with tap water and allow to freeze while arm is down. If cubes drop and the ice maker does not refill with water then the dual water control valve=> 67005154 Dual Water Control Valve Another possibility is the ice maker thermostat pictured here=> MZD2669KES Ice Maker Parts Breakdown item 13 in photo. If the test fails then it is sometimes better to buy the complete ice maker=> 7824706Q Ice maker Module

Ice maker on maytag side by side fridge will only make and dispense crushed ice no cubes.

Might be too many ice cubes in the bin. Try dumping it.

Ice maker dripping water fusing ice cubes

The dual water valve (solenoid) that open and let the water from the line when the ice maker calls for it, is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Water in icemaker overflows into ice cube storage box AND CAUSES ICE CUBES TO FREESE TOGETHER AND FORM BIG ICE CHUNKS. ALSO THE FULL SHUT OFF PADEL HAS ICE FORM ON TOP OF IT

Check the ice maker after it dropped the ice cubes and when it calls for water it should be pouring it for no much more than 7 seconds ,if more it overflows, in this case the module board inside the ice maker has to be replaced(or for almost the same price with parts and labor you can replaced it for a new ice maker) But if water is sitting in the ice maker all the time , the dual valve which supplies water to the ice maker is leaking and needs to be changed (it's located at the back of the fridge in the bottom behind the cover where the water line is hooked up).

Maytag msd2356ae ice maker will only give me hollow ice any ideas.

Hi,
Hollow ice cubes are most often cause by insufficient water supply. Icemakers fill for about 7.5 seconds, resulting in about 4.75 oz. (140 cc) of water into the ice cube mold. If there s not enough water pressure available at the fridge, cubes may end up hollow and/or the fill could continue to dribble, eventually causing the fill tube to freeze closed.
pls rate my suggestion.........

Water and ice despencer

Production of ice cubes depends on freezer temperature. zero degrees turns out ice more often than 15-20 degrees. Slow water?
You may have a partial clog in the supply line to the water sloenoid vavle. Are the ice cubes normal size when dumped?

Ice Maker will not release the frozen ice cubes from tray

The icemaker use an avaporator system with an heatinc coil and a fan to release cubes.

In your case either the heating coil or the fan in the icemaker must be replaced.

parts can be purchased from partselect.com.
