RCA F32649 The picture on my screen is too dark. I've tried adjusting the contrast, color, blackness, etc. and that helps some but it is still to dark. I've never had to mess with the picture for the 4 years I've owned it. It just started having this problem about 2 weeks ago. Any ideas?

I dont know this exact model, but i can advice you based on a slightly diffrent model. i hope the solution will be valid for your model as well: TV is digital controlled and have to be adjusted via service menu except the external focus and screen on back of (flyback) high voltage transformer. This is one you can try: Need plastic allen or plastic small flat blade screwdriver to fit these. Focus is top, bottom is the screen that set the overall brightness. Before adjusting, go in menu: press menu once, select picture quality, I think number 4, press 2 for "preset..", press 2 again to select normal. Back out by pressing zero repeatedly. It may ask you to save new settings, select yes. If screen is adjusted too bright, picture look lousy (washed out) the blacks will light up (becomes grey, or visible lines) this means you have actual fault that prevents you to get decent pix, that when it is time to take it in for repair.

MY TV PICTURE HAS GONE A LITTLE DARKER AND ADJUSTING BRIGHT, CONTRAST, COLOR,ETC. DOES NOT HELP

How long u have this RCA analoge tv?Around 10 years or more and used it like about 5 or 6 hrs everydays?Yes,than ur tv it is losing CRT tube radiation cohetion. As times go bye years in years out the tv CRT-(tv tube) radiation will slowly dying out,Tv actual pictures will lost some of it luster and it brightnesses to the tv auctual pictures.Brightnesses of CRT tube will get darker and darker until the tv actual pictures barely it is watchable anymore.Contrast,Brightness and Colors adjusting more will help some. But u have to take this tv aparts and take a Flat scerw driver turn up a little bit more of the tv HV-(high voltage) SCREEN button on the FBT-(flyback transformer) to make any big differences of the CRT tube brightnesses. The FBT-(flyback tranformer) is the big block of plastic with a red wire with a black cap hook up to the tv CRT-(tv tube). This adjustment on of the FBT,HV-SCREEN button will help the tv CRT-(tv tube) last another year or two.

Adjusting color/ user mode??

The TV will not let you set brightness, contrast, color or tint in the preset modes like Vivid, Movie, Standard etc. Look for a mode that says custom, user etc..

I'm trying to improve the picture- seems to be TOO DARK- tv is 10 yr old ser3 935351541- ihave tried color adj etc

Rca Screen Control These sets have screen control adjustment usually located behind the speaker grill(pops off -velcro or press tabs) and convergence front board. There are 6 contols on a black molded assembly about 31/2"x21/2" square. adjust only the top controls marked "Screen R G B" the bottom ones are focus
Method:
-turn on set and let warm up for 30 min at least
-switch tv to blank unused video input channel
-adjust each control in turn until you see the picture glow (with the corresponding color) and slightly back off the control - repeat for each color - this will increase screen brightness and ballance your color
Hope this helped.

Color on the picture is dark

You can adjust the brightness on the back of the set which says screen. put a mirror so you can see the screen and slowly turn the screw clockwise until you can see the picture.

Green tint I can't seem to fix

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.

By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.

Rca home theatre big screen tv

# 1 above you have covergence problems ,there is a service flash from rca to fix your fault, ask your tv shop. fault # 2 above turn off the color and adjust your screen settings for a grey picture, set brightness and contrast to middle settings. # 3 fault read #1 cause if your auto focus will not correct you require service there is a harness connector that looses connection and causes several fualts on the 52" rca's you can repair the fault but if you miss the harness replacement you will do it again.

Picture has gotten darker

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

Dark picture (HELP)

Open up the back of the set but be very carefull. Notice a large black block with a large red wire that runs up to the picture tube. on one side of that large block where the thick red wire is comming out of are two controls, one should be marked focus or F and one should be marked screen or S. With the set operating normally and not touching anything else, slowly turn the control marked screen or S clockwish till the picture gets bright enough. If you go too bright the set will shut down or you see small thin white lines so back down on the control. then touch up the focus and your good to go. good Luck.
