Open Question

I am trying to remove the filter from the bottom of my Kenmore Ultra Wash 665 model. There are four screws holding down the filter; I have removed three, but the fourth one is underneath the Feed Tube mechanism. It looks like the feed tube may come apart at the end near the filter, but I'm not sure. Can you tell me how to move/remove the feed tube so that I can remove the last filter screw? Thanks, Lisa

SOURCE: dishwasher not cleaning - want to clean drain

We have a Kenmore 665.17702k600 Portable dishwasher with a similar problem. What we did was pop off the drain cover (turns out the one screw wasn't doing anything and just pushed down into the unit when screwdriver was applied). We popped it off by shimmying a screwdriver under the panel, and applying torque on the long end. It just popped right off. Then there was this nasty stale water, and not much obvious debri. We used a wet vac to slurp all that up. So that's the solution we took -- haven't tried it yet, so not sure if it will actually fix the problem...

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash model 665 1373 and it isn't getting totally clean on the top rack - glasses and cups are almost clean but bowls etc are not, any ideas?

Check the shaft of the impeller, the plastic shaft might be broken, it was the problem with mine. To get to the impeller you have to remove the filter at the base of the diswasher and after you will see the screw that hold the impeller assembly in place, unscrew it and you will see right away if it is broken, Good luck

Kenmore ultra wash model 665 has lock on light. Does not respond to no heat dry four seconds.

Press and hold the heated dry button for 5 seconds and see if that will unlock the control panel. If not then try to flip the circuit breaker off for a minute and see if it resets. If nothing resets, then you just need to replace the control board because it's shorted.

Good luck.

Cloudy white film on dishes after the cycle has completed.

The problem is hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product to solve this problem once and for all. It filters the water going into your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that leave those spots. It is very affordable and even has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look with this product.

I have a kenmore 665 dishwasher where the spary arms do not spin.

  • First, check water level. Start machine, wait until the machine begins main wash. Open the door, the water level should be just below the heater element. If too low replace inlet valve.
  • If you can't hear the wash motor running or is just humming, the motor may be bad.
  • To check if the food chopper is blocked or broken;
  1. Remove lower spray arm by holding the arm and rotating the spray arm retainer.
  2. In the back of the tub, unclip or remove the screw from the upper spray arm supply tube.
  3. Rotate the lower spray arm support to the right while disconnecting the supply tube from it.
  4. Remove the four torx screws from the sump cover, remove assembly.
  5. There may be a primary filter in the left side of the sump, if so, remove the torx screw and the filter.
  6. On the right side there is the chopper assembly cover. Remove the torx screw and cover to expose the chopper.

Hope everything goes well for you,

Regards

Richard

Where is the filter on a Kenmore Quiet Guard 2 dishwasher?

I have a Quiet Guard 4. Same problem so will describe my solution.
1. Remove bottom basket. Remove top basket.
2. Remove bottom washing arm. Unscrew (Gently but firmly) the centre post. Lift arm assembly up and out.
3. Remove overhead conduit. One screw at back, one at top (Philips #2 bit). Rotate whole assembly 45 deg right (Clockwise) and lift off of centre post.
4. Remove centre post (Pull straight up). Remove 4 screws (Star T-20 bit). Lift whole assembly out. Pop off screen and clean.
5. Remove cap over cutter/chopper. There is a single screw at front left (under assembly removed in 4). Remove screw (Star T-15 bit) and cap (Needs some wiggling to free it up). Remove cutter and filter. It is on a spring loaded pin. Pull the cutter blade foreward and then the filter disc straight up. Clean thoroughly as it may be the cause of your problems.
Reassimble. Good luck!
