Question about Washing Machines
Hi, is this a new washing machine? If not, then these Maytag front loading washing machines use a paraffin locking switch in the front panel to lock the door
during operation. Now, if the switch has gone south and trip the the lock switch
without locking the door. Then the washing machine want turn on.
What is a parfin locking switch work is a small
container with paraffin (wax) in it with a heater. When the washing machine is
turn on. The control board indicate that the machine is in operation and a small
amount of current is applied to the paraffin switch to the heating element. This make
the parfin to expand trip the locking mechanism and locking door during
operation. Keep the door lock from accidental openings. It will take about 4
minute after the washing machine has quite it running operation to open the
front loader door. The paraffin needs to cool down to release the locking
mechanism. stewbison

This does not answer my question at all The machine is very new, I can open the door and I had an LF code on it which means I have low water flow. Does that mean that I am not getting enough water going through and perhaps a clog. The code no longer appears as there is no power light on and wont work when the power button is pressed but the outlet works fine,.
Low water indicates the control boards isn't letting enough water in. This is control by the load setting in the microprocessor. Heavy load will give the maximum amount of water. Now, the maximum amount of is set by the Washing Machine confederation. To conserve water. I think here in the US it set at 9 gals of water max. Dishwasher have there own water setting.
There could be a couple of thing wrong here. One, the water level indicator can be faulty showing low water metering. The electronic timer could be malfunction only letting just some water and not what it should be indicating on water level. Also the water inlet for the cold and hot water is control by a couple sensor one is the how heavy is the load and the limit is set to 9 gals of water and no more. Smaller the load the less water is need, more load, more water
If you have a window in the door of this Maytag washing machine. Put the maxium load in the machine and before it start it cycle. Take a look at where the water level is on the window--for a heavy load the water level will be less that half on door window. Remove the hoses from the back of the washing machine. Once they are remove there will be a screen on each hot and cold solenoid inlets. see if they are plug. Also, on the other end of the hoses is another screen in the noses. Check these screens.
You also mentioned that there was no power. Power for what? Does this Maytag washing machine working or not. stewbsion
