Agitator seems loose. Machine working fine, but agitator makes loud noise when running. How can I tighten it up? I think my son got some heavy blankets wrapped around it during a wash.
It could have stripped the spline on the plastic agitator. there is a bolt at the middle of the agitator and you can access that thru the top . remove the top cover and you can remove the bolt using a deep socket.
once you remove the agitator you can look at the dog agitator. these a 4 pcs plastics that works like a one way wrench.
be careful on the location, they are very hard to put back.
check also the spline on the inner part of the plastic assembly.
they do get stripped.
if they are, replace the whole agitator.
tnx 4 using fixya,

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care Imperial LSQ9244EQ0 shakes violently on the spin cycle and the adjitator seems to be too loose. I have tried tightening the bolt in the adgitator (that tall thing in the middle) but it wont tighten any more.
