I need a user manual for a Cable and Wireless CWT2100 answerphone, Thanks Anne

I have the same phone. To record a message, press Menu - press down arrow keys until you get to Record Outgoing Message - Press and hold down Menu again to Record. You record handsfree. I have a problem with the quality of the recorded message, it is very hard to hear it, there is a lot of background noise.

If you want to revert back to the pre-recorded message, do all of the above as far as recording the message but instead of actually recording a message, lift the handset and it reinstates the pre-recorded message.

To listen to the message you have recorded, Press Menu, click on down arrow keys as far as OGM and press Menu again to play the message.

Change voice mail message

Step 1 Compose your message ahead of time. If not, you may end up stumbling, looking for the right words while you are recording your message or leaving out some important details. Composing your message before you begin recording will save you from having to record several messages before you find one with which you are satisfied.
  • Step 2 Make it easy for your callers to listen your message. Record your message in a relatively quiet room without background noise. Speak loudly and clearly. For the benefit of callers who don't have much time, make your message as brief and to the point as possible.
  • Step 3 Begin the recording process by first locating the "Change" button on your answering machine. This button initializes the answering machine for adjustments to the settings of the various features.
  • Step 4 Locate the microphone on your answering machine and lean towards it until you are about nine inches away.
  • Step 5 Locate the "Annc" button. Press and hold the "Annc" button until it beeps. Begin recording your message.
  • Step 6 Watch the message window while you are recording your message. It keeps track of how much time has elapsed since you began recording. You can record a message that is up to three minutes long.
  • Step 7 Locate the "Stop" button and press it when you have finished recording your message. The answering machine will play your message back at this point. If you are not satisfied with your message, repeat the steps to record it again.
  • Step 8 Press "Annc" if you want to listen to your message again

The pre recorded message on the answering machine has been lost.

I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

    Using a pre-recorded greeting
    message
If you erase or do not record your own
greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
    greeting message for callers
and asks them to leave messages. If the
message recording time (page 39) is set
    to “Greeting only”, caller messages
are not recorded and the unit plays a
    different pre-recorded greeting message
    asking callers to call again.
