Canon Pixma iP5200 just started to make some thin green lines on photoprints. Colours otherwise OK. Inks are non Canon but long used and previously OK. Have tried tests, cleaning and deep cleaning with no real improvement. Had been about 3 months since colour cartridges were "exercised".

Are these lines evenly spaced?. Do they always appear in the same spaces?
When printing try and hold the paper so it comes out completely flat and see if the lines are there.

Pictures are printing out very green - I have just swapped all colours and cleaned the heads but still green pictures!

You have poor quality inks. Get original inks and new print heads and your printer will work fine.

I HAVE A PIXMA MP170 AND THE MESSAGE WASTE INK NEAR FULL, BUT THE MAQCHINE ALSO SHOWS THE CODE 5800 & WILL NOT PRINT PLEASE ADVISE... MANY THANKS

Hi:
The problem here is the waste ink pads are full, these pads are located at the lock posistion to the far right where the units cartridge holder goes when you power down the unit and on start up. The way to solve this to to have the pads replaced, they are used to collect the waste ink the printer uses to clean itself when starting up, These pads usually take a long time to fill up, so either you do alot of printing or you hve used Non Canon inks or generic refill cartridges in the past, these are not good for your printer as some of these types of inks are either to thin or to thick and fill the pads up prematurely..Keep in mind to always use recommended guine ink cartridges you may save a little now with ink refill cartridges but in the long run your printer will eventually give out.

I am having problems installing canon iP5200 with Windows 7

Did you upgrade the computer from Windows XP to Windows 7? If so, did you uninstall the driver before you did the upgrade? The old driver files may be causing the problem.

To fix, go to this link, and in the search box in the center of the screen type "windows 7" and click on the Search button. Then select the link "ERROR: Cannot communicate with the printer after upgrading to Windows 7". There will be step-by-step directions for resolving your problem.

You probably have to contact them directly to get your exact circuit board.

The black print don't work

ok you need to take out the inks then remove the print head it just comes out once the inks are taken out, get some windex and clean the bottom off the print head with a fine lint free cloth spray the windex on the rag then clean the print head, also if its really bad spray windex into the where the inks also sit give it a good squirt let it sits for a few minutes then wipe it out, make sure you DONOT touch the gold bits on the printhead. refit to machine do a head clean on the driver should work fine.

Red colour prints brown

Just replace the non genuine inks with proper Canon ones and then do about 4 full cleans, that should fix it. If not you will have to replace the printhead, which is usually caused by using non genuine ink. Good luck
