Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD63 Front Load Washer/Dryer
It fills with water but doesn't agitate. Any ideas?
If washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. Note: direct-drive washing machines do not have belts. 1) Check the spin cycle. If this works, the motor is operating and the belt is not broken. If it doesn't, the belt may be loose or broken. If you're fairly handy, tighten or replace the belt, otherwise call an appliance repairperson. 2) Check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that strikes it. If the plastic tab is broken, the washer may halt during certain cycles. Press and release the switch: if it doesn't click each time you do this, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person. 3) Call a repairperson; there may be a problem with the controls or the agitator solenoid may be broken.

SOURCE: washing machine not working
This normally indicates one of two problems.
1), the overflow pipe that goes into the sump is blocked and needs unblocking. (make sure that you have a bucket and towels at hand)
2) the carbon brushes in the motor have worn down. If the motor is on top of the machine which I believe it is on this model they are fairly cheap and easy to replace. Most washine machine repair shops sell these as spare parts.
I hope this helps

SOURCE: washing machine fills and spins but will not
Sounds like you have a faulty motor, even if it spins, it could still be faulty.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: washing machine not washing or spinning
More than likely worn brushes in motor
Remove top cover, and slacken motor bolts holding motor at top right of washer. slide out carbon brush holders in motor, and replace if less than 3 or 4mm long.
This should solve the problem.

Hi
If the cycle won't complete then either it's a problem with the timer or a cold-water supply problem:-
If your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water.
