Odors are generally caused by stagnant water or chronically dirty condenser coils. 1) Unplug the unit. 2) Empty the reservoir, mop up any damp areas, and clean the coils with a brush and a garden hose. Note: You can have a dehumidifier's coils steam-cleaned at an appliance-repair or auto-repair shop, but if you do this, have the unit checked after the cleaning to be sure the electrical components haven't been disturbed. Allow to dry in a warm place for at least 24 hours.

I purchased A Haier Dehumidifier 2 yrs ago on Aug 20/09( registered online) and it's been great...until today. i walked into the house, and the machine was making a VERY strange,high-pitched noise,...

Dont turn it back on your terminals on the compressor have vented causing all the freon and oil to leak out this is a fire hazzard. This dehumidifier is ready for the trash buy a new one soleus air is a lot better quality. Keep in mind all dehumidifiers are made very cheap so they are affordable and dont have a long life span. Let me know if this helps.

No water collecting allso burning smell also it do not sound lik compreser is kiking on

If you haven't already, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Obviously, if you're getting a burning odor from the dehumidifier, something is terribly wrong. Since there are no belts on the motor or fan of the unit, the compressor may have burned up. In which case, the cost of repairs would almost or be equal to, the cost of a new unit.

I'm sorry, I wish I had better news for you.

My dehumidifier will not stop running coils frost up musty odor from it

there is a freeze stat on the unit it connects to the evaporater coils it is suppose to shut of the compressor unit when it senses the temp is at freezing the idea is that the unit condenses moisture out of the air like your air conditioner for your house or car this part is dirty or malfunctionong

The fan inside is having a hard time rotating...starting to smell. what gives?

If the fan motor is quite hot to the touch when it is running and the smell is like something burning and the fan blade isn't rubbing on the housing then the fan motor bearing are most likely worn out. If that is the case then the fan motor is bad and needs to be replaced.

No manuel, do not know how to work

Hi Journeay,
The dehumidifier is telling you the humidity in your house is 45-50 % so it will not run until the dehum thinks it is over 60%. When you set a humidity it will show the setting then it will tell you the humidity in the house. Sometimes they are wrong, and somtimes the humidistat goes bad. I would suggest setting the dehumidifier lower than the 45-50 and see if it comes on. This time of year the humidity is usually low depending on your location. I have already put mine away for the winter. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I really hope this will fixYa. If not just let me know.
