Likely more than just the connectors were corroded; probably some internal components as well. You live in Florida and work in an aerobics facility. Nothing more humid than that combination. Toss the current unit and buy a Shure or Audio-Technica model along with the Caig Labs De-Oxit kit. Treat the connector pins with De-Oxit as soon as you buy it and 2-3 times a year after that and it will last for many years in that environment. Do not buy the Chinese Cheez Whiz mics. You earn your living doing this and it is a tool for you to communicate with, and vital to a good session. Don't try to do it for $79. Buy it from a company that specializes in audio equipt. Sweetwater.com will take back anything (within a reasonable time) that doesn't sound right, adjust the way want, doesn't feel comfortable, etc.
Shure can help you with the repair. www.shure.com/service Shure's repair facility is in Niles, IL.
