I used my Triton 500 for measuring how far I walked in a recent hike up Mt. Whitney. The cumulative odometer was consistently higher than the actual distances as measured by (1) published distances for this hike (2) my sisters pedometer. The Triton-measured distances were almost double the actual distances. I am very disappointed. Possibly this has to do with the kind of sampling that's being done? Help!

The distance is calculated in a straight line between intermediary points - the actual distance that you have walked it will always be greater.

Settings
Do a MENU>>VIEW>>SETTINGS and us the down arrow to scroll to the hidden menu name date and time.

Press the PAGE/GOTO button and when you find the odometer screen .. press the enter button and choose the RESET option. This assumes that you have installed the latest version of the firmware.

Assuming that you have the latest firmware installed. Do a MENU>>VIEW>>SETTINGS and then using the down arrow to scroll down. The Date and time and language and power settings are out of sight. scrool down and you will see date and time.
