The only thing I can think to add is that it is "working"; it is just not providing output wattage information. I worked great in another room with a small (10-inch) tv, asus desktop, small vcr, and logitech speakers. Whenever I tirned a device on or off, the output wattage changed in a sensible way. The maximum wattage was 95 watts; when all devices were turned off, it said 0 watts. In the new room, I checked each of the 6 ups-protected sockets separately with a 30-watt lamp, and each time the wattage indicator said 30 watts when the lamp was turned on, and 0 watts when the lamp was turned off. So why is it always saying 0 watts when the cable modem and router are plugged in? When they are turned on, it says I have 97 minutes left, by the way. But still 0 watts. Why is this?

Cable modem and router do not consume much current, both are may be less than 1 watt so that is why UPS is not counting its consumption. You can check both units power consumption ratings on pasted labels.
Hope this help.

MODEL RECTIFIER CORP .TECH 2 DUAL POWER 2800 what is the wattage of this power pack

Google search revealed the following - "The 2800 is rated at 10.6 VDC, 8.5 VA which translates to 1.25 amps",
which is rather confusing as VA for practical purposes is the wattage (of the output) and 10.6 volts at 1.25 amps is wattage of 13.25 while the quoted VA of 8.5 suggests a current of only about 0.8 amps is available which I think is somewhat unrealistic. This is presumably for each output...

Having trouble under standing rms with speakers. Some speakers rms is per speaker and other are for both speakers.I am looking for soundstream speakers that would be 150 rms per speaker. Thanks

rms is a method of measuring power (wattage) delivered from an amp to a speaker. In almost every case, wattage capacity of speakers is quoted PER SPEAKER. Likewise wattage output is quoted per amp output channel. Assuming a you plan on a single speaker on each output channel of your amp, you should be in good shape if your speaker wattage capacity equals or exceeds your amp's output rating. I've never seen speakers rated as wattage per pair.

(rms is the dominant way of measuring average watts of an ac sine wave signal)

Sony cfd-s01 boombox radio

Hi Bart,
You will find there is a specification plate on the rear of the unit.
It should have a rating on it showing the wattage of the unit. This is usually the amount needed to operate all the functions of the boombox.
The wattage is your input voltage multiplied by the current draw in amps. So the amperage is the rated wattage of the unit divided by the input voltage.
Usually all power goes through the transformer, so I would use this input amperage as a guide, and assuming there is no power loss, use the same calculation for the output - you know it is 9 volts, so the wattage going to the unit is the same as the input wattage, so you can calculate the amperage from this.
Transformers usually work on AC input/output, so there will also be a rectifier to convert the AC to DC for your boombox.
I would add 10 - 20% above your calculation to make sure you have sufficient power. Also I suggest that you install a fuse between your transformer and the boombox for safety.

We have a Valsi 5500 watt generator that isn't putting enough voltage out to run everything in out small travel trailer. It runs the lights but doesnt push out enough voltage to carry the A/C, microwave,...

How long have you had this generator?
Has the generator worked on all of these loads before?
Model 5500 is a 5500 Watt generator which could easily be 5500 watts (Peak) and not continuous.

Your AC is an inductive load.
Your lights are resistive loads

An inductive load can cause issues when starting due to an increased current demand at start up that some generators cringe under. Do the lights flicker or are they stable? I'd say your diodes on your stator are working if you have light stability but you haven't provided nearly enough information for a detailed solution.

I'm sure you have enough voltage but you aren't getting enough current to run specific loads. How many watts is your AC? How many watts for your microwave? Both of these units demand a great deal of energy to run and when you place too much demand on your generator, it will choke it out and eventually, will cause damage to the generator. You may consider getting a beefier generator with a greater amount of wattage output.

Seeing these specs online and noting what you are trying to run, you have an undersized generator and need to get one that can produce a greater amount of running wattage (as well as peak wattage).

Treadmill turns on (electronics work) but no movement on mat and no sound. Prior to this, the mat was sometimes stalling and surging. What do you think the problem may be and what would it cost to fix.

Sounds as though you may need to replace the motor for the tread belt. I can't quote you a price for certain but if you have the skills to disassemble the treadmill you could replace the dead motor with a working one provided that the output shaft, wattage, and amperage of the replacement are the same.

Can I connect more than 6 lights to one garden light fixture package and if so how do I do it?

If you are referring to a wired low voltage light set (you listed under a ceiling fan, so I'm not positive what we're working on) Yes, you can, providing the total wattage of the bulbs is less than the wattage output of the transformer. (i.e. If you have a 50 watt transformer and 6 watt bulbs 6X6=36 you could add 2 more lights, which would be 48 watts) Do not exceed the rated output of the transformer. As to how, they usually use some form of wire piercing connection and usually come with instructions for how to use their connector. Good luck

Would like to know the wattage oiutput on my vulcan duel fuel oil heater

¿ Oil heaters do not generate wattage. On the name plate for the unit it may give you an AMP draw. Multiply Amps times Volts to get wattage use when in operation.
