Same problem Picked up this monitor about half a year ago, a Viewsonic A91f+, and have been having some issues for a while now concerning what appears to be shifting in the monitor image, but that is about the best I can describe it as. It is most noticable when a large dark area meets a light area, like text or window edges. This "shifting" only occurs on the right side of objects and seems to show most often after I switch resolutions more than a few times, usualy due to gaming. Ive also noticed it happening from running random programs that dont require resolution changing/flickers but this happens FAR less often. -photograph of the effect- As you can see, its pretty subtle on a darker background, but Ive had no luck carturing it on a light one. Anyone have any idea as to what is occuring on this monitor and how it could possibly be fixed? Possibly an issue with magnets? For a while, I did have a small headset hanging off the the monitor on the side that the images "shift" towards, but even taking those off and away havent fixed it. Currently the only fix I have found for this is to shut my monitor off for 5-30 minutes, depending on how bad the "shifting" is when I find a time break long enough to fix it.

Screen keeps t going blank but still have power

It may be the internal backlight that is failing. When the display has failed but still has power, take a flashlight and hold it close to the screen, move the flashlight all around the screen and check if you can see anything. The display will be dark, but you should be able to make out the image that is there with the flashlight technique. If you can see an image on-screen, then your backlight has failed and you will need to replace the monitor. Weather or not you see an image is not a critical issue, but a tool to verify if the backlight is off or some other issue is causing the problem.
Note, it may be difficult to detect an image on the un-light display, for example if you have a dark image as your desktop background. So make sure to fully scan your display (top to bottom, and left to right covering the entire screen) with the flashlight technique in order to see any image on-screen.

While working on my laptop it suddenly become blurry, the images are seems mirrored, the text become doubled and it hard to read. The graphics display was really blurry and even i open to safe mode still...

Look for a 9 pin or 15 pin plug on the side of your laptop. You can connect an external monitor to these type of jacks . If the display on the external monitor is clear then your laptop display panel is the culprit.

Dual Monitor distorted window..

Try changing the resolution. It's best to have the same resolution on both monitors, but if they are different size, choose one that you can see most clearly in. Ex. larger monitors would preform better on higher resolutions, same with small monitors.

Heat from monitor

The monitor, screen, adapter or display of a computer is the primary user interface. Monitor problems are some of the most common computer problems since the voltages inside a monitor can be as high as 10 KV. Many of the problems can be fixed yourself by simply changing the settings but in a few cases you may have to either replace or repair the monitor.
google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad); How to troubleshoot and fix computer monitor/display problems
1. The monitor/display flickers
Check the refresh rate. If the refresh rate is 50 Hz/ 60Hz (depending on which country you stay), it can be affected by interference from electrical power signals like those from fluorescent lamps . Increasing the refresh rate to 72Hz is recommended , since higher refresh rates reduce eyestrain and headaches
2. The display works fine initially, then after some time there are black lines on the screen and then the display disappears
There is a problem with the copper windings in the CRT monitor which are getting heated. It is better to replace the monitor
3. For a new monitor, you get a blank screen or distorted image.
Many monitors, especially LCD monitors, can only handle resolutions which are less than the native resolution, so set the resolution at the native resolution only. The native resolution of a LCD display is lower for smaller LCD screen sizes, typically 1024 X 768 for 15" LCD. CRT monitors have a better resolution than LCD displays
4. The display on the monitor is not steady
This is a result of power system interference from users of the power grid, particularly UPS, power tools and heavy machinery. Try changing the position of the monitor.

5. There is a shadow on the images on the display
Try reducing the contrast setting on your monitor.
6. Monitor becomes blank occasionally
Could be a problem with the display card, check with another monitor. The monitor display cord and power cable should be fixed properly and there should be no loose connection.
7. Dark Spots on the Screen.
Move speakers,USB modem and other magnetic devices away from the monitor.
8. Incorrect Colors - red may become dark brown, blue becomes purple.
Check your video cables and connectors for bent or broken pins and wires. Sometimes there may be a problem with your display card, which can be retuned using a software available with monitor technicians.
9. Run Antivirus to scan corrupt software files.Virus cause distorted characters and images.
10. Set your monitor/display pixels to the software requirements. some softwares require higher pixels to run or to be displayed. some media players, web applications, video games applications and photo editors/view softwares have option to view photos on low or high quality

I have a dell Dimension 2300 and the images are very dark. I don't think it is from the monitor.

Try these steps: 1. Check the monitor settings. Access the On Screen Display (OSD) Menu System. Adjust the contrast and brightness using the control buttons in the monitor.
2. Run the monitor self test. Unplug the video cable from the computer (cable from monitor to the back of the computer). Usually it has a blue or white connector. Turn on the monitor alone. It should display the self test pattern (white, red, green & blue). If the images are dark in the self test, it is a problem with the monitor.
2. Rotate the monitor to face a different direction. This will help in eliminating sunlight glare which can cause poor picture quality.
3. Test your computer using another working monitor. If the problem occurs in a known good monitor, then it is a video card or motherboard (if your video card is integrated) problem.
I hope these options help.

Display problems

If you see a dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.
Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Menu display intermitent

display is disclosed which produces multiple visual displays in an intermittent manner which includes a display housing having a perimeter wall which is transparent during visual display and is an opaque mirror between visual displays. The perimeter wall of the display housing is a composite structure which preferably includes a transparent cylindrical substrate which is coated with an optical film and an opaque mask which defines display windows. Multiple visual displays are produced by a rotating display base which carries rows of rotating display elements. Preferably, the display elements are elongated triangular elements having three image faces which bear images which create the visual displays. The triangular display elements are arranged in a triangular configuration wherein the rows intersect one another at acute angles and are carried by the rotating base. The rotating base includes three display positions and each of the triangular elements includes three display positions. A stationary observer would see nine different visual displays and may see themselves mirrored in between and during the changes of visual displays. The perimeter wall of the display housing becomes transparent as the triangular display elements are backlit along their entire length by elongated fluorescent or neon light tubes. When the light tubes are off, the cylindrical display housing is an opaque mirror, preferably, about its entire periphery and height. Other embodiments of the invention include a single row of triangular display elements, and a rotating display base which includes display faces consisting of only a single display element.
