Snowy picture and Yellowy Whites

I have a PDS 42TR S Plasmavision. The Whites are yellowy and There is some snow over different parts of the picture. This is an issue even if the unit is receiving no feed from dvd/cable/ect... and is just on normal white screen. Can you help? This is a foreign model going through U.S. power source and its been suggested this may be the cause. Your thoughts?

Make sure the TV setting is set to or . A power surge may have reset your ?cable-ready? TV. Check the cable setting on your TV and make sure it is set to or . If a VCR is connected: * The VCR needs to be on channel 4. * VCR may not be ?fine-tuned? to channel 4. Locate and adjust the fine-tuning mechanism until the picture comes in clearly. * The <3/4> switch may be in the wrong position. Locate the switch on the back of the VCR and set it to <4>. If a converter is connected: * Make sure the TV is on channel 4. * TV may not be ?fine-tuned? to channel Locate and adjust the fine-tuning mechanism until the picture comes in clearly. * Determine if the converter is bad. Locate the cable wire coming in to the room and connect it directly to the back of the TV. If the picture is clear, your converter needs to be exchanged. Give us a call or stop by your local office and we?ll switch out your equipment. Check the fine-tuning of your TV

The sceen turns a yellowy tone and then goes back to normal

Possibly there's an internal electronic part/s of your monitor that is cold soldered / defective. I suggest to bring it to an authorized service center to fix the problem. regards

Color temperature for the monitor

I have mine on 9300K. The whites seem whiter to me rather than the yellowy tint at lower temps.

Yellowing screen after 15 minute great working!

styber,
While CRT monitors are very good with color rendition, they do have a warm up time (at least 30 minutes before to get the truest color they can give) they also lose brightness and contrast over time. Since you do Photshop work and color is important to you, you should consider a new monitor, if you want to stick with the CRT style they are still available cheaper now because of the popularity of the thinner lightweight space saving LCD's, but you can get a new LCD which will be better that the .26 dot pitch you are used to on the HP. Depending on the extent you rely on your monitor for color accuracy, you can find a reasonable replacement monitor all they way up to an outrageously priced model which has lots of adjustments. Be be advised all monitors are going to look different and all should be calibrated, either visually with software based adjustment or with a hardware / software monitor calibration. That's a whole different solution - ask if you want to know more. I personally went from a 21" Sony CRT, huge and heavy to a 20" widescreen LCD, no regrets, the images are clear the display is stable. So go and look at them at your local computer store. The cost to have the CRT repaired combined with shipping (the weight is a factor) was just under the cost of a new LCD. There are very few user serviceable parts for monitors and repairing is not as economical or practical as it was back in the days of "TV Repair" shops.

LCD screen is not producing a normal picture screen

Check the pictures on your PC. If there is no change then the CCD unit is a problem. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service. Arpi
