I suspect that the problem is your dvd isn't set on the same system as the tv. What I mean is try to change first in the tv options from pal/ntsc/secam? To the option that fits you best. You can try doing it threw the dvd option if the tv doesn't support this option. Good luck!!

New 50" hisense tv .. unable to use hdmi for cable box .. tried different cables and all 3 hdmi outlets on tv ????

There might be a setting on your cable box for audio output. Use the cable remote and look in the audio section of the settings menu and select HDMI output. Mine is under Audio Digital Output in the Audio/Video menu.

N64 colors do not work when hooked up to Vizio TV.

You probably have the RCAs in the component video hookups. Its easy to confuse them as they are similar ports. They are usually red, blue, and green. Look for the yellow, white, and red hookups. Those are for RCA connections as they don't work in the component hookups for HD video. i.e. blue-ray, PS3 That will cause the video to look grey and grainy.

I just purchased a Sanyo Hdtv Lcd and the picture quality if off the picture seems to come out greyish or pale....i'm not getting a true color. Is there some adjustments that I should know about? I tried...

Check hookup connections. If you are using the component input (3 wire video green ,blue and red). Be sure both ends are in the correct colors. if switched or not all 3 connected color will be off. Composite video uses only 1 wire ,yellow. See owners manual for hookup explanations.

I get no picture when I connect the set box HDMI cable to the TV

The default connection is usually HDMI 1. The possibility of the cable being defective, or the box sending a signal out need to be determined.

Set up your connections, then turn on your TV.

Try using different HDMI hookups.

Bring a different video source to get the TV to display.

See if you can bring up the TV menu to select an input to connect to.

Rca model f36649 s-video hookup to laptop computer When I hookup s--video cable to tv & HP Pavillion dv9000. I get nothing on tv? I have tried putting tv on channel 3.

Depending on how many hook ups you have on your tv it may have a factory designated channel. Example: Video 1, Game, etc. I know my TV has several different video channels. It's more a matter of trial and error until you find the vidoe channel for your oulet. Input channels are usually found before channel 1. Or look on your remote and see if it has a button to switch the channel to your input channel. Good Luck.
