The "home theater system" you mentioned is a rip off plastic toy manufactured for the express purpose of duping people in parking lots into buying something for a ridiculously high price making them think they're getting a deal. All the same you should just need a pair of RCA cables to go from the audio outputs on your TV to the audio inputs on the sound system. If your TV doesn't have ausio outputs you'll have to run them from your signal source(DVD player, VCR, Satalite receiver etc)
