What had happen is that you activated the self cleaning system motor and it jamb up,now you have to open the back of your stove and you would see a small motor with a rod attach to it , remove the rod from the motor and push back and forth depending where it got stuck to realest the micro switch
Can you provide some additional details to help me help you? What kind of stove (make/model) and does it have any kind of self clean mode?
Without knowing the above details generally speaking of the oven is already preheated, to change the temperature you would hit the bake/preheat button to then adjust temp up or down with a digital stove. The dial stove from is self explainatory!
That loc on message may be because you have a stove lock lever or feature that prevents the stove from being opened when enabled, or when the stove is self cleaning. This may prohibit the adjust meant of temperature when the lock is on, or the stove is running through the self clean..
Again all just a general thought without knowing the above information... if you can post back or let me know is this was helpful in anyway to you! Thanks!!
From the information you provided it sounds like something inside has shorted out.
While you were cleaning (if using a liquid spray), it may have leaked into the control panel. Liquids and electronics don't like eachother. The spark and smoke are a sure sign of this.
With most Frigidare appliances the number "1" indicates a contol fault. Such as a shorted keypad. Internal checksum my have corrupted control relay shorted or bad probe. Check probe and probe wiring and replace if bad. Power off for 30 seconds. If fault returns replace control.
It will most likely need repair by a qualified appliance technition.
Personal opinion. Do not mess with settings on a gas stove. Call a gas oven repair tech and have them come out and fix it. That way if it happens again you have someone to call
soundsas if you have a dirty stove, Id reccommend running through en extended cleaning cycle, it will SMOKE, that s geting rid of any food/grease trapped inside the flue and cabinet of unit
After the lock indicator light goes out, move the
door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the
selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS
UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is
unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock
mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to
CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off.
