My xbox 360 doesnt want to read the game. when i put in gears of war, it tells me to open tray. i open it then close it and again it tells me to open tray. ive done the clean cd and still the same thing. ive even bout another used one and it would do the same thing with open and close but then would catch and work, but once i deside to play another game like gears 2. it starts again with opn tray.think the eye needs to be cleaned. its my guess..... what has to be done to fix this problem with the open and close tray situation. please help me...

OPEN TRAY ERROR every ones getting it i have i just keep opening and closeing it it comes on sooner or later?

I found a solution that works for me after a long period of time with this problem.

Get an air spray canister (just compressed air), open your Xbox's game tray, take the disc out, then spray the air along the tray, moving side to side inside the Xbox. You may want to spray into the vents, too, just to be sure.

This worked for me, and it was the only thing that worked for me. I had already tried hitting the console with the controller (gently), and doing the stuff Microsoft recommends etc.

If that doesn't work, you could try gently knocking the top of the Xbox with your conroller, when you put the disc in, as I've heard that works for some people.

Another thing that works for some people is taking the disc out, closing the tray, then when it goes to Open Tray, open the tray, put the disc back in and then closing the tray again.

I have had this happen about 3 times. The first time was when i figured out how to fix it. The 2nd and 3rd were temporary.(Just needed to be turned off for a moment) You need to shut the console off for atleast 15 minutes 10 at the lowest with everthing unplugged. I mean the hard drive, memory unit, and all cables, and adapters. Then after 10-15 minutes plug everything in and DON'T PRESS the BUTTONS ON THE XBOX OR THE CONTROLLERS. Press the button to open the tray and take out the game or dvd and put in a different one. If this doesn't work do it all over again and then put in a different game or dvd not the previous ones and turn on the console the same but then a soon as you get the disc in and closed in shut it off then open the tray and wait till you are at the main menu go into any program so you can't see it is reading and close the tray. If that doesn't work contact the xbox support line. Really hope this works for you.

it could be that u got **** like food in your x box360 open it up and clean it out put it back to gether and try it if this dose not work tell me at [email protected] ty

If it says "reading" you just have to wait. H.A.W.X. is a big game.
If it says "open tray" you have to close the tray :)

Unless, Check the CD for scratches and marks, or else try the CD on another Xbox 360 console.

common xbox flaw mine does the same ,just keep opening and closeing the tray till it reads the disk,this can be very annoying .your dvd tray is probally on the way out

You have a problem with your Xbox. 3 Game discs arent all faulty.
Call a service agent and tell them your Xbox cannot read discs.

this only happens with gears of war 2?? ...if so your unlucky and got yourself a faulty disc..or if you watch a copied dvd that messes it up and you'll need a new one.
