Question about Gateway Projector 210 Multimedia Projector

Won't turn on

I connect power to the 210. The stand by light flashes slow. I press the standby button, the standby light glows steady and it begins to power up and there is a small about of light coming from the lamp. After about 8 seconds the lamp goes out, the fan spins like it is cooling down and the indicator light flashes fast. After three minutes the unit goes back into ready mode but I can't get it to turn on.

If the projector starts to output light then goes out that is the lamp. Hopefully you got a good price for the projector the lamp will be around $300. Before you replace the lamp you may try blowing out the projector, dust will cause shut down as an overheat protection. This may at least get it to turn on long enough to go through the menu and see how many hours are on the lamp. Be sure to reset the lamp counter if you do replace the lamp. If the fan blows and the indicators turn on the projector is probably functional.

If you're NOT still under warrantee you should at least open the projector and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. A lot of times you can buy replacement fuses at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace. Check the fuse. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again, or if it is not blown, your problem is probably in the 'X' volt regulator and you will need professional help with the repairs. You can also check the board where the components are mounted and resoled any that look bad. Brief power outages may cause the remote to turn off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the set directly to the wall outlet. In your case it could caused by a blown fuse, a leaky diodes or a bad solder joint at the horizontal drive transformer. All can be replaced at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your projector serviced. good luck!

I have a 51inch LG TV and never had a problem I turned it off as normal and then tried to turn it on a while later and nothing I only got a red solid stand-by light it don't flash when press side buttons...

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

Most standard ADSL modems have four/five lights in the front :
Power light to indicate electric power to the modem.
ADSL light indicates the status of ADSL sync. When the modem is synchronized with the ADSL line card at the other end of the circuit/loop, the DSL light will be steady green.
LAN light will glow steady green when the modem detects a successful link to a computer or router ethernet port.
ACT i.c. Activity light glows when the modem is sending and/or receiving data on the lan and wan. It will vary between very slow to fast flashing and steady green to indicate lan/wan traffic.

No power output or display.green standby light flashes.

Sounds like either a blown mainpower fuse or the thermal fuse for the power transformer. If the protect circuit was kicking in, the display would light up, but then turn off with a red blinking light. the green light with no display means the transformer is not getting power.
