How to recove Seagate external hard drive data?

Probably, the new operating system cannot recognize your Seagate external hard drive. You can connect the Seagate external hard drive to another computer to copy data to another device. If the problem still exists, you might need to perform data recovery. You can free download the data recovery software: http://www.icare-recovery.com/seagate-recovery/seagate-external-cannot-be-recognized.html

I got aComputer Tower and I want to install a Seagate free Agent Go Flex 500mUSB 2.0 how do I get a Instruction?

The connection will be the same (desktop or laptop, USB 2.0/3.0). Find an free USB Type A port on your computer. Connect the appropriate end of the USB cable to the Seagate hard drive and the other end to the computer's USB port. If you do not have any free USB ports, then you will need to get a USB hub or add a USB card to the desktop. You may need a powered USB 2.0 hub to ensure that the external drive works properly. (Warning: not all hubs are sold with the power adapter. Hard drives that loose power are often at risk of losing data.)

I hope this helps.

MY Seagate Free Agent Pro 750GB External Hard drive is no longer registering on my computer. It's only about 1/3 full and I need to recover the data. The software on my computer does not detect a free...

Sounds like the enclosure has a problem. If this is one of those free agent go flex drives with the removable USB to Sata interface you might try getting another drive like it and borrow the interface from that drive when you need to use this one. That's something I have to do now because one of my interfaces died also.

We have the seagate free agent and don't know where to go to drag our items from main hard drive to the seagate

Double click on My Computer expand the "C" drive / minimise and simply drag from one drive to the other.

Seagate 1TB Free Agent Quit Working

Hi,
It looks like its just the ac-adapter that is dead.
I would contact the store you bought the harddrive, and ask if they just can send you a new ac-adapter.
Btw backup means that you have saved your data 2 places.

I reformatted my C: drive and ever since Windows will not recognize my Seagate External Free Agent hard drive. It shows up under ?My Computer? as Removable Disk (I: )? It used to be listed as Seagate...

Try connecting it to another computer. If you can see your data then back it up etc.
After you have recovered your data connect it to your computer, from Disk Manager, remove the partition, recreate it again and then format the drive, hopefully your external drive will be operational again.
There is a possibility that the hard disk has died and you will have lost your data. If you are desparate, hard drive data recovery companies charge an arm and a leg to recover data from dead drives.
